Our employees will lead this exciting transformation and grow professionally with us.The Material Planner is an essential part of the manufacturing team and ensures the flow of materials necessary for all manufacturing operations. The Material Planner will ensure that operations never run out of necessary manufacturing materials. This person will work both as part of a team and independently in a variety of settings. The Material Planner may be required to perform physically intensive work, such as surveying inventory and inspecting the production line. They also may be required to work in spaces that are not temperature controlled. They typically work regular business hours but may be required to come in on evenings or weekends when working on large orders or to address production issues. The Material Planner will manage the supply levels for our manufacturing operations and forecast our supply needs, ensuring we always have materials on hand.

Essential Duties:
  • Works closely with engineering and accounting to ensure master data accuracy based on business needs.
  • Working knowledge of BOM and MRP fundamentals.
  • Manage inventory stocking levels to the appropriate levels using statistical analytics.
  • Manage and report on critical spares pool of parts.
  • Identifies and communicates a detailed status on any material planning items impacting the production schedule (e.g. part shortages).
  • Ensures that material resources are consistent with production schedules.
  • Determine material specifications, quality standards, creating and maintaining inventory schedules, and coordinating with internal departments regarding timelines.
  • Work with Procurement to ensure the appropriate supply of cost-efficient and high-quality materials required to maintain steady production and product delivery.
  • Monitor demand patterns and production volumes. Ensures the Master Data is adjusted to meet any demand or supply changes.
  • Manage inventory issues, schedule changes and cancellations.
  • Inventory position reporting and work with Procurement on shortages.
  • Manage obsolescence and excess inventory.
  • Identifies opportunities for improvement within the materials group and leads improvement initiatives.
  • Achieve and ensure that material availability is 100%.
  • Ensure standard MRP set-ups and physical material flow is in place across multiple programs.
  • Works with warehouse to determine optimal inventory management strategy.

Basic Qualifications:
  • 1-3 years manufacturing experience
  • 7+ years’ experience in manufacturing supply chain
  • Proficient in mathematics and statistics
Desired Qualities:
  • Strong knowledge of BOMs and MRP processes
  • Strong end-user knowledge of SAP software
  • Strong, professional communication skills in listening, speaking, and writing necessary for communication with all levels of employees
  • Intermediate to advanced computer skills in (MS Office suite software, i.e. Word, PowerPoint, Excel)
  • Prior manufacturing industry experience
  • Experience in a rapid growth environment
  • Team oriented, strong ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment and to multiple deadlines
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize effectively and efficiently
  • Strong sense of internal customer service
