Job Description

We are looking to hire a skilled Maintenance Technician to oversee the maintenance and improvement initiatives of our company processes. As a Maintenance Technician, you will be responsible for maintaining and optimizing current processes. You will also aid in development and implementation of continuous improvement activities. Ultimately, your job is to maintain the equipment, improving the efficiency of production in order to reduce costs.

 

Responsibilities:

· Assist in the installation of new plant equipment.

· Maintain and optimizing equipment to improve efficiency of production.

· Support site housekeeping and safety programs, maintaining a workplace that is clean and safe.

· Be proficient in the utilization of lockout/tag out program and Hot Work requirements.

· Effectively prioritize and complete preventive maintenance tasks.

· Utilize root-cause analysis skills to investigate breakdown and line stoppages while collaborating with other departments.

· Utilizes maintenance documentation program to open and close out work orders, check out spare parts, and other activities as required in the plant.

· Aid in operating functions, as necessary.

· May be required to work at heights and/or in confined space.

 

To ensure success as a Maintenance Technician you should have extensive experience in electrical and mechanical systems with high-level analytical skills. Our Maintenance Technician will be on a fixed 12-hour shift either days or nights working a 2-2-3 schedule. MM Metals takes pride in supporting veterans and work-life balance.

 

Education / Experience:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Must have at least five (5) years of industrial maintenance experience in hot metal foundry industry, steel mill, or heavy industrial manufacturing environment
  • Ability to understand technical procedures, read and interpret Instrument Diagrams and other manuals.
  • Experience in material moving systems, silo mixing, conveyors, bucket elevators, forklifts, cranes, and frontend loaders.
  • Welding and oxy/fuel cutting experience.
  • Competent working hydraulic, and pneumatic equipment
  • Must be able to read, write, and communicate effectively with team members.

MM Metals has been granted a permit to produce low carbon ferrochrome in Pennsylvania, USA and is on target to be in production in Q3 2021.

MM Metals will sell high purity low carbon ferrochrome directly to steel mills, alloy producers, and other specialty metals industries.

Low carbon ferrochrome is used in the production of stainless steel alloys and high chromium alloys.

Low carbon ferrochrome is designated a critical material by the US Department of Defense and is vital to the production of defense equipment.

MM Metals will operate from a new state of the art facility in Pennsylvania and over 80% of the hardware is being manufactured in the USA.

The facility will use many locally sourced raw materials including scrap aluminum which will be re-melted and cast into small granules which are then used as a reductant to produce low carbon ferrochrome from ore.
