Speech-Language Pathologist Summary:
Provides speech-language pathology services to patients in varying states of health and illness. The Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) functions as an essential member of therapy and multidisciplinary teams providing direct care to patients. The SLP works within a cooperative team model of care and supports other speech-language pathologists by sharing caseloads across sites. Responsibilities include providing evaluation and differential diagnosis of the communication, cognitive and/or swallowing disorder, treatment and symptom monitoring, and education and counseling to the patient, family, or care provider. The speech-language pathologist demonstrates progressive knowledge and a sense of responsibility with a variety of specialized equipment including fluoroscopy (e.g. Modified Barium Swallow Studies) according to established practices. The SLP teaches and prepares patients/families and caregivers for continued care after discharge. The speech-language pathologist demonstrates dedication to professional growth and development and to the continuous improvement of patient care. The SLP may be involved in consultative services within the organization and in the community.
We are looking for an experienced hospital-based Speech-Language Pathologist / SLP, who is able to provide diagnostics/treatment to both inpatients and OPs. Focus on patient-centered care is a must. The candidate should feel comfortable working with a variety of neurological diagnoses and structural disorders. Should have competency in Modified Barium Swallow studies and a strong background in Aphasia / Dysarthria / Voice / Communication-Cognitive Disorders, with a background in AAC preferred. The candidate should be able to demonstrate flexibility in scheduling and have a can-do attitude.
- Must be a graduate of an accredited Speech-Language Pathology program with an active SLP license in the state of Arkansas
- Must have CCC’s or be a CFY candidate.
- Must perform job responsibilities in accordance with state and federal guidelines.
- Good organizational and problem-solving skills
- Flexibility and teamwork
- Exceptional oral and written communication
- Experience with the geriatric population
- Understanding of current Medicare billing regulations
- Licensed to practice speech-language pathology in the state of Arkansas
