Job Description
MIBA Industrial Bearings U.S. is a global leader in the design and manufacture of hydro-dynamic bearings. Working for MIBA, based in Grafton WI, the candidate will be responsible to support the strategic growth of the hydrodynamic bearings product line.
BASIC FUNCTION:
This position is accountable to improve continuously and consistently the site productivity, and lead activities to reduce product cost. The Manufacturing Engineer is responsible to identify opportunities through analysis, manage project development from initiation to closure, develop proposals, conduct studies, work with process improvement and cost reduction, plan and perform research, design, development or other manufacturing engineering assignments to develop new methods, tooling, etc.
The Manufacturing Engineer is capable to interact with Designers, Process Technicians and Programmers for implementation of improvements. The opportunity for the Manufacturing Engineer to develop into a leadership role is available.

This position reports to the Engineering Manager.
PRIMARY DUTIES:
- Accountable for Productivity improvement
- Responsible to reduce product cost through process improvement, buy versus make, design, and technology
- Recommend and lead Value Added Value Engineering activities for manufacturability and cost reduction
- Conduct SMED initiatives and other CI activities to continuously improve site performance
- Accountable to investigate, establish and implement requirements for equipment, tooling, materials and methods of manufacturing for new or revised products. Include development and execution of CAPEX Project
- Perform detailed analyses of problems and define and execute plans to implement change. Trouble shoots operations to identify root causes of production problems.
- Lead safety initiatives
- Recommend new standards and policies.
- Assist in the more difficult and technical problems affecting manufacturing and projects.
- Work closely with other departments whose services are necessary to conclude assignments.
- Other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS FOR POSITION:
- Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering.
- 5 Years minimum working experience in Manufacturing Engineering in Metal Working Industry
- US Citizen Required.
- Demonstrated experience with cost reduction, quality improvement and throughput improvement projects.
- Must be experienced in Lean/Six Sigma methods with hands on experience.
- Demonstrated experience leading and participating in Kaizen events.
- Strong knowledge of machining, specifically milling and turning.
- Experience reading and interpreting blueprints and CAD drawings including geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T)
- Knowledge of NC programming methods and language (G-Code)
- Previous experience with CAM, CAD and ERP/MRP software
- Experience analyzing operational metric, identify and develop KPIs
- Must be a self-starter, lead and be able to work in a team environment and perform a variety of duties without loss of efficiency.
- Excellent communication skills, written and verbal, to clearly present ideas in a variety of forums.
- Demonstrated project management experience
- Experience in a low volume/high mix manufacturing environment
- Experience with Quality (ISO 9001), Environmental (ISO 14001), and Health & Safety (OHSHAS 18001) business management systems.
- Solid knowledge and experiences of Operational systems and best practices.
- Solid knowledge of MS Office product and computer proficiency
- Limited travel required: up to 10%.
