This is an excellent opportunity for a CDL Class A with Hazmat Endorsement Driver that is seeking a career opportunity with a well-established stable company that provides its employees with excellent comp and benefits plan. You will be home every night and this is a Monday – Friday position Day Shift.
Responsibilities Include:
The driver will operate truck in a safe manner. In this role you will pick up and deliver heavy equipment, primarily forklifts, to our customers locations (local). Most loads will have hazardous material onboard. You must be able to drive with various types of trailers such as lowboys and flatbed. You will be responsible for loading and unloading equipment. You may install batteries on various types of equipment. This position will require you to strap down cargo in a safe manner an in accordance with DOT regulations. The driver will ensure that the correct equipment is delivered to the correct customer and location. The driver will stop for all DOT roadside inspections as legally required. You will be required to record all DOT log books. The driver will complete all required documentation via fax, written, or electronically in time frame provided. In this role, you will be responsible for communicating with multiple people; excellent communication skills with an emphasis on courteous and expert customer service is required. You will be expected responsible for these duties in a safe and timely manner.
Qualifications:
High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent
Experience as a heavy equipment hauler
Experience with 48ft trailer and manual transmission
Experience will small parts installations such as batteries
Must have valid CDL Class A with Hazmat endorsement License
TWIC card is preferred
You must have basic mechanics tools such as wrenches, sockets, etc.
Experience driving and delivering in city and suburban areas.
Expert knowledge of DOT rules and regulations
Ability to use cell phones, tablets, and computers are required
Valid Driver’s License with a Clean Driving Record (3 years)
Hourly rate based on experience
Ability to lift 50 lbs
