Job Description

Position Title: Maintenance Supervisor

Department: Operations

When You Will Work: Monday through Friday, full-time position with flexible 1st shift hours.

Where You Will Work: This position will be in Baldwin City, KS

Who You Report To: Director of Operations

HowYou Will Make an Impact: The primary responsibility of the Maintenance Supervisor is to oversee the repairs, installations, and upkeep of various buildings, offices, grounds and equipment. The main duties include designing maintenance procedures, tracking budgets and expenses and performing inspections on different facilities, grounds and equipment to find problems and make repairs.


  • Oversee, manage and direct all maintenance procedures and operations
  • Train and supervise employees of the maintenance department
  • Carry out inspections of facilities and equipement to identify and resolve issues
  • Negotiate contracts with outside vendors for execution of maintenance work
  • Maintain all machinery to ensure it’s at working standards
  • Assess current maintenance work processes, to optimize efficiency
  • Manage proactively
  • Create and implement measures to minimize breakdowns and repairs (performing quality checks of all machinery, tools, equipment, etc.)
  • Plan and manage all repair and installation activities
  • Ensure operational efficiency of electrical equipment and mechanical systems through timely inspection and repair
  • Ensure that company premises and buildings are kept in clean and hygienic condition
  • Document and prepare daily progress reports and maintenance logs
  • Monitor equipment inventory and place orders with supplies when necessary
  • Monitor expenses and control the budget for maintenance
  • Ensure workplace safety policies and standards are complied with


  • 3+ years’ experience in maintenance supervisor role
  • Solid understanding of technical aspects of plumbing, carpentry, electrical systems, etc.
  • Ability to keep track of and report on activity
  • Experience in planning maintenance operations
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent leadership and management skills
  • Outstanding organizational and leadership abilities
  • Track record of developing and maintaining strong relationships with employees
  • Competent in problem solving, team building, planning and decision making
  • Lead with a sense of accountability, continuous improvement, and a sense of urgency
  • Quick learner with the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously, maintain focus, and adapt to a variety of challenges
  • Knowledgeable of forecasting and budgeting
  • Ability to identify, develop and implement continuous improvement initiatives
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.

Education and Experience:

  • 5+ years relevant experience in maintenance
  • High school diploma or GED reqired
  • Bacchelor’s degree in business administration, management or related field prefered
  • Valid Certified Maintenance Manager (CMM) will be a plus
