General Job Description:

We are looking for a Data Architect to join our growing data services team. The successful candidate will be hands-on thought leader responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining data and analytics architecture to meet an enterprise’s business analysis and reporting needs. The Data Architect will work with business units, data engineers/consultants, QA, DevOps, and Security in a collaborative environment to ensure delivery of quality and secure solutions. The candidate must be self-directed and comfortable supporting the needs of multiple teams, systems, and products. The right candidate will be excited by the prospect of developing solutions for our next generation of products and data initiatives. The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of experience in data architecture and have attained certifications in data design and architecture.

Essential Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for design, development, and maintenance of data storage and analytics architecture to meet an enterprise’s business data, analysis, and reporting needs.
  • Data Diagramming is a must
  • Collaborate with architects and business partners to formulate technical vision for applications in Data Warehouses employing SSIS, SSRS, and SQL server.
  • You must have extensive experience with either AWS or Azure cloud platforms and data tools. Conceptual and practical understanding of standard, star, and snowflake schemas and ability to convert on-line database schemas to data warehouse of star-schemas.
  • Understanding of messaging/streaming tools in context of building data pipelines.
  • Expert understanding of SQL and relational database concepts, structures, and approaches as well as basic understanding of No-SQL data access approaches and management of JSON-based JSON/SQL hybrid datastores (e.g., AWS DynamoDB, Aurora, Postgres, MySQL, etc.)
  • Expert knowledge of T-SQL code and stored procedures.
  • Review, analyze, modify, and create ETLs, utilizing SSIS, testing, debugging, integration and implementation processes.
  • Design, develop, and support new and current ETL processes employing industry standards and best practices to enhance loading of data from and into different source/ target systems.
  • Provide support to the organization’s business requirements in the application and consumption of information from the Enterprise Data Warehouse (EDW) or from other suitable source systems.
  • Document technical needs for ETL/ELT processes and databases, and ensuring optimal technical infrastructure is utilized.
  • Delivery of data integration projects and would therefore require leveraging best practices expertise and experience at implementation, as well as effective technology know-how.
  • Perform various complex assignments without much supervision
  • Mentor and train of staff.
  • Design and implement ETL/ELT procedures for intake of data from both internal and outside sources; as well as ensure data is verified and quality is checked
  • Design and implement ETL/ELT processes and data architecture to ensure proper functioning of analytics load, as well as client’s or third-party’s reporting environments and dashboard
  • Collaborate with business and technology stakeholders in ensuring data warehouse architecture development and utilization.
  • Carry out monitoring, tuning, and database performance analysis.
  • Perform the design and extension of data marts, meta data, and data models.
  • Ensure all data architecture code is maintained in a version control system.
  • Develop and enforce standards and best practices including performance, security, monitoring policies and procedures.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Position Requirements (Skills, Knowledge, Abilities):
  • Possess Bachelor’s degree in an analytical related field, including information technology, science, and engineering discipline
  • 5+ years developing data solutions
  • Experience with technologies such as Microsoft SQL Server 2008-2022, SSIS, SSMS, SSRS and stored procedures
  • Experience with SSRS in building, maintaining, and testing and configuring. RDLs reports and Data Sources.
  • Exceptional experience developing codes, testing for quality assurance, administering RDBMS, and monitoring of database
  • Proficiency in dimensional modeling techniques and their applications
  • Strong analytical, consultative, and diplomatic skills; as well as the ability to make good judgment and work with both technical and business personnel
  • Several years working experience with PowerBI, Tableau, TIBCO, MicroStrategy, Information Builders, and other reporting and analytical tools
  • Knowledge of Python code used in data processing, data pipelining and modeling tasks
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with excellent professional attitude
  • Strong customer service skills and passion to work through obstacles to produce results
  • Able to work in a projects-based, team environment
  • Proficient in multi-tasking and managing multiple projects, able to meet target completion dates
  • Able to be flexible and adapt to change
