Job Description

The Sales and Business Development Representative is responsible for the full life cycle sales of industrial automation systems. Responsibilities include finding and developing prospects, navigating through complex sales cycles, closing the deal, continuing education in the technology field by stating up to date with latest market trends, and current account retention.  Responsible for interpreting concepts to meet market and customer requirements and to assist in bringing solutions to life. 

·         Relationship selling with new prospects and established accounts

·         Managing a complex sales cycle

·         Prospecting for new business

·         Educating the consumers on latest market trends

·         Maintaining and growing relationships with all existing accounts.

·         Reporting all existing account growth and loss.

·         Provide timely and complete communication of details for meetings and customer requests

·         Maintain current task list and related actions with projected completion dates for management; manage time and projects in order to meet completion dates assigned

·         Responsibility to maintain detailed knowledge of all established specifications

·         Research materials to support product development and provided needed research on a timely basis

·         Provide travel schedule to management

·         Outside sales experience with a proven track record of closing new business, selling “value-added”, selling to multiple end users, time management and organizational skills

·         Must be able to travel overnight

·         Must have a valid driver’s license

·         Must be able to lift 50 lbs

·         Travel to remote locations in the field required

·         Team oriented, honest and highly motivated

·         Ability to work independently with a “hunter” mentality

·         Good written and verbal communication skills

·         Can prioritize multiple tasks appropriately to meet business needs

·         Understanding of role in the company

·         Demonstrated capability with manufacturing processes

·         Understanding of prototyping techniques

·         PC literate and fluent with Microsoft Office and Sales programs (i.e. CRM programs)

·         Understanding of Quality Fundamentals

·         Understanding of Financial Fundamentals

·         BS (4-year degree preferred)

·         2-5 years of experience in similar role and demonstrated significant contributions (preferred)
