About This Role

As part of our Construction Operations team your core responsibilities will be to work directly with the Project Manager over the Construction department. You will start off being over all of the subcontractor networking and partnerships as we continue to grow and expand our department and overall company reach. The role will continue to expand into more project management as you work on projects to grow the Construction department.

 

Overall Responsibilities

  • Manage contractor capacity and find new subcontractors where needed across all construction markets. 

  • Create and manage subcontractor types: subcontractor that supplies labor only; subcontractor that completes the entire project.

  • Lead the integration of subcontractor operations in new markets across lumio that have not yet been set up.

  • Spearhead the creation of a capacity tool to be used by the construction department.

  • Oversee subcontractor escalations and ensure appropriate resolutions are reached.

  • Onboard new subcontractors and assist with upkeep and compliance. 

  • Offboard subcontractors that are not up to standard.

  • Manage subcontractor expectations and workflow and hold subcontractors accountable to ensure continued excellence in regards to quality and project completions.

  • Negotiate subcontractor pricing by subcontractor type. 

  • Continued management of Lumio/subcontractor project process flow, make adjustments/improvements where needed.

  • Assist with various projects to further grow the construction department.

  • Manage the invoicing process and delivery of invoices to Accounts Payable department

  • Develop and document a full training program for the construction operations department

  • Work closely with department heads to fully implement process changes

  • Work to integrate 4 companies processes to develop the best practices focusing on throughput and cost realization

 

Qualifications 

  • Minimum of 1 year in construction and renewable energy, specifically solar energy

  • Must have complete knowledge of solar installation process, roofing, electrical, and general construction

  • BS degree in construction management, architecture, engineering, or comparable work experience

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Excellent leadership, problem solving, team development, and critical thinking skills

  • Able to influence, lead teams and engage with training

  • Ability to read and understand construction drawings.

  • Ability to read and understand electrical single-line and three-line diagrams.

  • Ability to read and understand manufacturing equipment standards.
