Job Description

Pedestal Foods—part of the Lumina Foods family—is seeking a Catering Operations Coordinator for Lindenwood University St. Charles campus events. The catering operations coordinator will work closely with on campus clients to deliver top-notch hospitality and tasty, creative food events. This team also handles the delivery functions for students, facility, and staff.

While not all inclusive here is a little about what you will be doing in this role:

  • Hire, mentor, and develop staff in all areas of catering services
  • Create staff schedules to meet client timelines.
  • Responsible for setting up logistics of the onsite events on campus.
  • Partner with the Executive Chef to set strategic goals for the catering division and plans to obtain them.
  • Manage and budget and financial objectives 
  • Meet with University staff to plan and customize their events and make suggestions for improvements and coordinate with chefs for menu development.
  • Implement food service administration, regulatory compliance, and food safety and explain the rules to clients and employees while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Attend on-campus functions to ensure client satisfaction and leadership to the team which will sometimes require long periods of sitting/standing and lifting 50 pounds.
  • Manager the process for an evolving on campus meal delivery program.


  • High School diploma or equivalent required
  • 1+ year experience in catering sales or banquet management is required
  • Working knowledge of math principles to calculate costs/outputs and familiarity with menu costing procedures
  • Basic computer skills including the Microsoft suite of products
  • Work effectively in a typical food service environment (loud noises, fast paced, large numbers of people, high volume activity, hot and cold food items, etc.)
  • Ability to lift and move objects of up to 50 pounds in weight
  • Ability to move event materials throughout the campus
  • Be customer-service driven with an ability to manage and maintain multiple priorities and multitask at both indoor and outdoor event
