We are a fast-growing and dynamic Intellectual Property law firm specializing in the prosecution of patents, trademarks, and copyrights. We are seeking a full-time US & Foreign Patent Prosecution Assistant to help with drafting/filing documents/forms; e-filing through EFS and ePCT; corresponding with clients, foreign counsels, and patent offices; preparing formals; creating response shells; drafting Information Disclosure Statements; docketing (Pattsy and Access); sending out task reminders (Outlook); following up constantly with attorneys; inputting filing fees and attorney time; generating invoices (QuickBooks); and otherwise assisting in other daily assistant tasks to ensure a smooth office workflow.
It is important you understand patent deadlines (U.S., PCT and national stages), is computer savvy (experience with telecommuting would be a plus), energetic, easy-going, flexible, pays attention to details, able to multi-task, able to handle different attorneys' personalities and adjust to their style of work accordingly, and generally require little supervision.
-Understand U.S., PCT, and National Stage deadlines;
-Experience handling administrative actions in patent applications for both US & foreign (i.e., filing corrected ADS, responding to Missing Parts, filing inventorship corrections, responding to PCT Invitations to Correct Defects, requesting foreign associates to enter national stage, filing a PCT using PCT-easy with information from a U.S. utility application, requesting foreign filing licenses, etc.);
-At least 1 year of intellectual property law office experience in a similar position; and
-Experience entering time/bills and invoicing in QuickBooks (or similar program).
This position is 100% permanently remote. You must provide your own good-working computer and a stable internet connection. Salary range is between $50,000-$53,000/yearly (non-negotiable). Our regular office hours are Monday through Friday from 9:00am-6:00pm (Pacific Time), however, if you are located in Eastern Time, your hours will be 7:00am-4:00pm (Pacific Time) and if you are located in Central Time, your hours will be 8:00am-5:00pm (Pacific Time).
