Job Description
The Lower Shore Clinic is a Certified Community Behavioral Health Center that offers outpatient therapy, substance abuse, and primary care services. Our Assertive Community Treatment Teams provide case management and advocacy services at a client's home, work, or any other appropriate location chosen by the client. Go-Getters is a subsidiary of the Lower Shore Clinic and provides rehabilitation services to adults recovering from severe mental illness. Day Programs run classes on daily living skills and support groups. We offer support to clients in the community who might otherwise be isolated or neglected. Rehabilitation Specialists assist with the daily demands of life, providing services at home, worksite, or another location chosen by the member. Residential Services provide housing, and with support and guidance our clients can learn skills to help them move into independent living. Crisis services help prevent hospitalization to people in crisis and the Supported Employment Team offers employment preparation and job coaching.

ASSERTIVE COMMUNITY TREATMENT (ACT) TEAM ASSISTANT

QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Personal stability, flexibility, energy, and commitment to working with people recovering from severe mental illness.
  2. Current CPR and First Aid certification.
  3. Excellent verbal and written communication skills; highly competent computer applications.
  4. Demonstrated ability to manage resources, space, time & personnel to meet performance objectives.
  5. AA degree or equivalent experience in office management, administration, finance.
  6. Ability to meet credentialing and privileging requirements as set out in Policy and Procedures.

DUTIES:

  1. Take part in all agency-sponsored training programs required by supervisor.
  2. Familiar with ACT evidence-based practice (EBP) standards and meeting them
  3. Manage representative payee accounts.
  4. Obtain authorizations in Incedo for services.
  5. Enter data into state databases monthly for ACT reporting.
  6. Answer telephone calls/on call phone during the daytime hours.
  7. Participate as required in team meetings to assure administrative coordination.
  8. Ensure insurance and other intake data from new patients is in records; maintain collaborative relationships with managed care organizations and insurance carriers.
  9. Assist in development and scheduling of staff as requested by supervisor.
  10. Maintain total confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA law, CARF accreditation standards and Maryland State Regulations.
  11. Other duties as assigned by the ACT Team Leader.

AUTHORITY: Position reports to the ACT Team Leader who will approve working schedule and provide evaluation.

CLASSIFICATION, SALARY AND BENEFITS:

Regular, full time, flexible schedule position; non-exempt from overtime; salary by letter of appointment.
