Responsibilities: This editor will work with the newsroom's arts and culture staff and its breaking news team to ensure timely and nuanced coverage of entertainment news in all its forms. Tasks will include assigning and editing stories; collaborating with reporters to find fresh angles on trending topics; identifying stories that performed well earlier in the day and advancing the conversation with reported follow-ups or commentaries from our critics; and flagging stories that are likely to dominate headlines in the days ahead.
Coverage will run the full gamut of entertainment journalism: celebrity deaths; awards shows and red-carpet premieres; business news from the major studios, agencies and production companies; developments from the film, TV, and recording academies; major casting deals and show cancellations; buzzed-about plotlines from TV series; and viral moments from late-night television.
Qualifications: Candidates should have five or more years of editing experience. Strong news judgment is essential, as is the ability to produce lively and accurate copy on tight deadlines.

- Well-versed in (or at least curious about) various realms of arts and culture - film, TV, music, fine arts, the business of Hollywood, podcasts, gossip, books, internet culture

- Comfortable adapting to the shifting priorities that modern journalism necessitates
