Veterinary Technician (LVT) at Bird and Exotics Specialty Clinic

Looking for a team player with a strong work ethic and a passion for birds, exotics and wildlife. You enjoy a fast paced work environment and are eager to learn. Respond quickly and calmly to crises, and maintain high standards of patient care. You communicate clearly and can ensure that patients receive the care that they need. You must be detailed oriented and must have at least one year experience in a clinical setting.

We will only accept candidates with an existing Veterinary Technician License or who are actively in a curriculum to obtain a Veterinary Technician License.

The ideal candidate will be a positive individual with one to three years of exotic veterinary experience. Candidates with experience in specialty exotics veterinary medicine and/or small animal anesthesia will be preferred.

We are willing to consider candidates with less experience who wish to advance their knowledge.

What we are looking for:

Assist in all medical procedures and all aspects of care to our patients.
Independently perform all nursing duties.
Answer telephones and respond to questions from clients and staff.
Perform accurate record keeping and data entry.
Perform other duties as requested.
Observe all safety rules and regulations for self and others.
Communicate/educate clients.
Maintain and evaluate the performance of the anesthesia and X-ray machines.
Maintain good housekeeping.
Experience:

Veterinary Technician: 1 year (Preferred)
License: Veterinary Technician (Preferred)

Located in Great Neck, NY, just off Northern Blvd, we are easily accessible from the LIRR station and by major highways.
