+ Job Summary: This position will support LLUHS`s strategic plan and the organization`s mission to continue the teaching and healing ministry of Jesus Christ, while embracing the core values of Compassion, Integrity, Excellence, Teamwork, and Wholeness. The Public Relations Specialist Sr is responsible for the development and dissemination of news, feature and photo releases, proactive and reactive media interaction, supporting brand identity and awareness through internal and external public relations campaigns, communicating the organization's mission and vision to the public through ongoing media relations, communications and news stories; leads in generating and implementing public relations strategies and tactics to achieve organizational objectives; develops and maintains excellent working relationship with a variety of stakeholders, clients and members of the media; assists with writing, coordinating and producing various publications; creates and distributes a variety of public relations materials for internal and external customers and researching and writing community health content as needed. Oversees overall support for department activity which includes assistance with a variety of media productions and events. Monitors all media activity and placements and ensure timely distribution of news clips to key internal constituencies. Performs other duties as needed. Job Specifications: Knowledge of organizational policies, procedures, system, and objectives. Knowledge of fiscal management and human resource management techniques. Able to use all computer systems and applications necessary to the position; approach projects creatively. Able to develop and maintain effective relationships with professional and administrative staff; communicate clearly both verbally and in writing; work with tact; be cheerful, sensitive and diplomatic; work as a team player; demonstrate willingness to work through a deadline. Able to persuade, convince and bring about a change in attitude of the press toward LLUH in times of crisis; demonstrate leadership qualities. Must demonstrate an exceptional presence of mind while fielding questions from the press and have the ability to engage members of the press and media. Able to plan and organize; exercise time management skills; exercise initiative, judgment, problem solving and decision-making skills; develop comprehensive reports; analyze and interpret data; demonstrate planning skills and resilience; research problems and communicate effectively verbally and in writing; concentrate on several tasks simultaneously and successfully multitask numerous projects from start to completion; recognize faces and voices of visitors. Able to distinguish colors as necessary; hear sufficiently for general conversation in person and on the telephone, and identify and distinguish various sounds associated with the workplace; see adequately to read computer screens, and written documents necessary to the position. Bachelor's Degree in communications, journalism, marketing, public relations or related field required. Minimum five years of experience required in public relations and/or agency environment, which includes copywriting, social media skills, and media relations. Valid Driver's License required at time of hire. Must be available to work Sundays, if required, to accomplish tasks/deadlines. Will be required to work outside of regularly scheduled work hours, 24/7 on call is required for press calls. This schedule will alternate among staff.
