Junior Data Analyst

LMI is currently seeking a Junior Data Analyst in LMI’s Advanced Analytics service line to design and implement business critical data management & analysis. The Junior Data Analyst will work with OSD client and other LMI team membors on a large OSD Program.


 

  • Transform data and analysis into informative visualizations and interactive dashboards using open-source and commercially available visualization and dashboard tools.
  • Derive insights and analytic narratives from data and visualizations for effective storytelling and clear communication in response to research questions.
  • Work in a fast-paced, solutions-oriented environment focused on client deliverables, analysis, and reporting.
  • Support the planning and execution of research project plans.
  • Conduct analyses of data on a variety of topics related to maintenance/logistics management for equipment, systems and sub-systems (e.g., cost and availability studies of aircraft, vehicle, and ship fleets) as well as industrial operations (e.g., maintenance organization, production, resources, reliability, programming, and financial management).
  • Communicate the results of studies and analyses to clients through written reports and oral presentations.
  • Attend client-sponsored forums and conferences; attend/participate in technical tracks related to maintenance/logistics management of equipment and infrastructure.
  • Leverage the Maintenance and Availability Data Warehouse capability insupport of ODASD Materiel Readiness.

  • Bachelor’s Degree in mathematics, operations research, systems engineering, data science or other related business or quantitative discipline required. Master's degree is preferred.
  • Ideally 1+ years of experience in DoD, logistics operations, operations research, supply chain or inventory management.
  • 1-3+ years of experience working with the DoD.
  • Active DoD Secret clearance required.
  • Experience with business process engineering, change management, and/or systems engineering
  • Strong statistical background.
  • Superior communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Adept at working and engaging with senior level DoD clients.
  • Available for occasional travel.
  • Preferred experience with data science methods related to data architecture, data mining, data and feature engineering, and predictive analytics; additional preferred qualifications include working with unstructured text and natural language processing
