Job Description

20-6094 - Dir Data Acq & Data Warehouse-DDADW

The Director, Data Acquisition and Data Warehouse will focus on driving the creation and execution of a business intelligence and data strategy. They will work directly with IT leadership to build a strong data engineering team and define, design, and execute data solutions that provide the foundation for technology solutions that deliver insight and analytics to internal and external stakeholders. They will identify and recommend data solutions (governance, augmentation, enhancement, etc...) in support of LogistiCare's data strategy

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Define and deliver a data strategy inclusive of proprietary data sets, anonymized data, and augmented data.
  • Drive the identification, acquisition, and incorporation of data to support the defined data strategy.
  • Work with stakeholders and legal to define actionable use of data considering options such as anonymization when necessary.
  • Experience implementing a "golden record" view of entities.
  • Formulate and recommend standards for achieving maximum performance and efficiency of the BI/DW ecosystem.
  • Facilitate the creation and execution of an ongoing BI/DW strategy inclusive of existing and available technology.
  • Interview stakeholders and develop Data and BI/DW roadmap given project prioritization and budget.
  • Participate in the planning for retirement of systems and migration of system architecture.
  • Assist in the development of business cases and ROI for department to gain approval from senior management.
  • Contribute to the selection and implementation of BI/DW technologies.
  • Evangelize self-service BI and visual discovery while helping to change the Excel based culture.
  • Champion data quality, integrity, and reliability throughout the department and organization by defining and promoting best practices.
  • Help lead the creation and implementation of a formalized data governance strategy inclusive of business and technology stakeholders.
  • Build a strong BI/DW team.
  • Aid and mentor BI/DW team members.
  • Provide technical training to team members and stakeholders to foster cross-departmental collaboration

EDUCATION

Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with a major in Computer Science, Information Systems, Analytics, Business Administration or closely related field.

Equivalent work experience accepted.

EXPERIENCE

Technical skills -- Hands on experience in the administration and utilization of the technologies (or similar) below...

  • Big Data : Spark, Pig, Hive
  • Database : RedShift, DB2, Netezza, SQL Server, MySQL, dynamoDB
  • ETL : Matillion, RedPoint Data Management
  • BI : Tableau, Business Objects, Qlik Sense, AWS QuickSight, ThoughtSpot
  • Cloud : AWS, Azure
  • Ability to create, articulate, evangelize, and deliver a holistic data and BI strategy.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills.
  • Ability to groom and mentor resources.
  • Ability to work in a distributed, virtual environment where colleagues and stakeholders may not be co-located.
  • Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills. Must be comfortable working with and interacting with all levels of internal and external resources from task level contributor or C-level sponsor.
  • Ability to define, implement, and evolve processes necessary to deliver noted areas of responsibility

PREFERRED SKILLS

  • At least 10 years of experience designing and delivering BI/DW solutions.
  • At least 10 years of experience with OLTP and OLAP database models.
  • Fluent in non-structured data concepts and practices.
  • Fluent in relational database concepts and practices.
  • Fluent in data management / data quality concepts and practices.
  • Familiar with non-relationship database (e.g. NoSQL, Hadoop, etc...) technologies.
  • Experienced with agile delivery methodology.
  • Experience identifying, negotiating, and obtaining external data sets to augment internal data sets.
  • Healthcare experience preferred.

SKILLS & ABILITIES

  • Strong interpersonal skills, communication, leadership ability, teamwork and positive attitude
  • PC literate, including knowledge of office productivity tools (MS Suite: Excel, Word, etc).
  • Candidate must be a team player and have the ability to adapt in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
  • Excellent customer facing skills
  • Must have excellent organizational and coordination skills
  • Must demonstrate sound analytical skills
