Life as a VP of Finance:

  • Planning, directing, and coordinating all accounting in a multi-company environment
  • Hiring, training and retaining skilled accounting staff
  • Supervise accounting staff to ensure adherence to all company policies and procedures
  • Coordinating, preparing, and reviewing internal management reports and external financial statements
  • Review monthly financial statements prepared by Controllers
  • Review bank reconciliations to clear any posting issues
  • Month End Reporting to Owners
  • Review and assist with maintenance of accurate records of service contracts, licenses and permits
  • Coordinating activities of external auditors
  • Provide information and backup for any Audit requirements
  • Providing management with information vital to the decision-making process
  • Preparing cash flow forecasts
  • Managing the budget process
  • Assessing current accounting operations and offering recommendations for improvement and implementing new processes
  • Evaluating accounting and internal controls
  • Evaluating the effectiveness of accounting software and supporting databases, as needed
  • Developing and monitoring business performance metrics
  • Overseeing federal, state and county regulatory reporting including but not limited to sales and use taxes, property taxes and annual reports
  • Assist with due diligence for new properties or properties leaving the portfolio

What we're looking for:

  • 10+ years of experience in a similar finance role with overall responsibility for day to day accounting management, reporting, and profitability
  • Experience managing senior managers from multiple departments
  • Excellent organization, management, administrative, and leadership skills showing collaboration and teamwork
  • Proven ability to drive, lead, and communicate change management strategies
  • Proven ability to plan and execute company-wide strategic initiatives
  • Ability to maintain a high degree of confidentiality
  • Innovative and embraces new ideas and technology
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in business, hospitality, finance, or related field

What to expect in your first few months:

You will begin by learning the Lodging Dynamics Hospitality Group portfolio and accounting software systems, inside and out! From there, we'll have you working with our Regional Accounting and Operational teams to understand and help establish key accounting processes and procedures. Then you'll begin liaising with our key partners. After that, you'll begin managing and mentoring our great team of Regional Controllers and working with them on financial success strategy! As your work continues to grow, you'll be a key player in expanding the Lodging Dynamics footprint.
