The Resident Care Director is responsible for the management, organization and oversight of the Resident Care department. This responsibility includes the management of staff, services, documentation, resident care, clinical protocols, monitoring labs, quality assurance and regulatory compliance. The Resident Care Director ensures that policies and procedures established by the company are implemented and maintained consistently. The Resident Care Director reports directly to the Executive Director. The Resident Care Director acts as a manager-on-duty and may be delegated to act as the temporary Director during his/her absence.
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform and complete each essential duty satisfactorily, have excellent communication and language skills which enable them to perform their duties and interact effectively with residents and community personnel. Employee must meet all specific state and federal regulations for assuming the position of a Resident Care Director at an Assisted Living Community. In addition, the individual must have adequate experience in personnel management and health care oversight in a similar setting. Experience working with the Geriatric population is required, as well as an on-going formal training program. The following certifications, registration and training are required for this position: valid license as a Licensed Practical Nurse and/or a Registered Nurse; current CPR, First Aid Certification; high school diploma; graduate of an accredited nursing college or university.
