Reports to: Dean, Division of Mathematics and Science

Position Summary:

The Research Lab Coordinator is a full-time, faculty position in the Division of Mathematics and Science. The Research Lab Coordinator will serve as a co-instructor for Biology/Math laboratories and will prepare and organize materials and equipment for Biology/Math labs; maintain inventory, and maintain records of supplies, equipment, cultures and specimens. The Coordinator will also assist in annual budget planning and tracking for the labs; and perform related duties as assigned.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

• Serve as co-instructor for three labs in the fall and two labs in the spring.

• Hold a minimum of eight (8) office hours per week.

• Submit timely assessment reports.

• Participate in the governance and committee work of the Department, Division, and the College.

• Supervise and participate in the preparation, set-up, dismantling and clean-up of all labs.

• Oversight of planetarium/immersion theater

• Serve as departmental compliance manager for biological safety and chemical safety regulations.

• Procure, and maintain the inventory records for, lab supplies and equipment.

• Coordinate equipment maintenance.

• Participate in scholarly and professional development activities.

Education/ Experience:

What you will need to be successful!

• M.S/M.A/M.Ed. in Biology, Math, or STEM education

• Previous college teaching experience preferred.

• Ability to work effectively with a diverse student population.
