The Role:

The Social Media Specialist works on the fan facing components of an artist’s overall marketing: including but not limited to social media management, promotions, fan acquisition and engagement, content creation, analytics and reporting. This position reports to the head of Digital Marketing. The digital team is relied upon to be industry-leading innovators in the digital space, anticipating social media and digital marketing trends and technological advancements.

 

Detailed Job Description/ Responsibilities:

  • Work with Head of Digital Marketing to execute innovative, impactful marketing campaigns across digital platforms with the goal of driving streaming, fan acquisition, and brand awareness for clients
  • Assist in the creation and maintenance of all online properties where applicable (Instagram, TikTok, Twitter, Facebook, Youtube, Weibo, and official sites) 
  • Create weekly editorial calendars and oversee posting across artist properties
  • Contribute to text message and email marketing campaigns in addition to social media
  • Identify and execute viral, digital word-of-mouth marketing opportunities
  • Contribute to the ideation, design and creation of digital assets, including photo and video content as needed
  • Regularly audit artist accounts on streaming and social media platforms and update and optimize as needed
  • Quantify success and efficiency of content, promotions, paid media, social engagement and partnerships
  • Become an expert in all aspects of an artists’ career, heavily research artist fan communities and constantly track online conversation around clients and their projects
  • Identify trends in digital marketing and social media and stay well versed in the latest updates to digital platforms
  • Track specific milestones, including email, social, plays and views, number of fans acquired, hashtags and ROI against project goals
  • Manage paid media campaigns on Facebook and Instagram 
  • Identify influencers and creators for custom content collaborations and activations

 

Required Competencies/Skills:

  • 3+ years’ experience in social media, community management, and/or digital marketing with a background in media or entertainment marketing preferred
  • Proactive, creative, innovative, organized, and accustomed to working on multiple projects under tight deadlines.
  • A deep understanding and active use of Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, Twitter, YouTube, Spotify and other social media and music streaming platforms
  • Desire to be first to identify every digital trend, meme and platform
  • Experience growing and managing multiple social media accounts
  • Strong analytical background 
  • Excellent communication, oral and written skills. Must be able to provide examples of previous social media work.
  • Proficiency with content creation tools i.e. Photoshop, Final Cut Pro or other video and photo editing platforms is preferred.
  • Proficient with Excel, PowerPoint or Keynote and be comfortable with collaboration and asset management tools like Google Drive, Dropbox, and Basecamp 

 

Education Required/Preferred:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience is preferred.
