Senior Quality Engineer

Lithos Energy designs and manufactures advanced lithium ion battery systems for a wide range of high-performance applications spanning automotive, aerospace, specialty vehicles and energy storage. We are currently seeking an experienced quality engineer who wants to help create a world-class quality management and production system. You will be responsible for leading internal and supplier quality assurance, building quality systems and processes, driving continuous improvements, and developing and evaluating suppliers.

Responsibilities:

• Work with Engineering and Manufacturing teams to determine specs and tolerances, set inspection standards, and train personnel to conduct inspections

• Drive quality processes and documentation: supplier quality plan, IQC documents, control plans, KPIs, PFMEA.

• Lead containment on non-conforming material, root-cause investigations, and implementation of corrective and preventative actions, in coordination with other stakeholders

• Establish quality metrics, monitor process capabilities and set goals for the production lines, be a champion for continuous improvement.

• Qualify, develop and audit suppliers.

• Drive QMS development and certification

• Support and mentor others, work to foster an inclusive culture of rigor and professionalism.

Qualifications:

• Thrives in a fast-paced, small team environment. Very effective communicator.

• B.S. Engineering and 4+ years relevant work experience.

• Experience managing quality for a wide variety of parts (molded plastic, stamped / formed parts, CNC, wire harness etc) and production processes (ultrasonic welding, resistive welding, potting, fastener assembly etc)

• Successful track record of problem-solving quality issues using fishbone diagrams, FMEA, process capability analysis, hypothesis testing, DoE, SPC

• Hands-on experience measuring, controlling and improving production line quality

• Detail oriented and not afraid to enforce good process

Preferred Skills:

• Experience with battery systems and high-voltage electronics

• Experience with electronics - wiring harnesses, power conductors, PCB assemblies, electrical components

• Experience building quality management systems and training others

• Comfortable performing inspection operations: CMM, inspection tools, check fixtures etc

• Able to design check fixtures and gauges.

• Strong understanding of process capability concepts: Cpk, gauge R&R, statistical control methods. GD&T proficient. 

• Familiarity with ISO9001 and/or AS9100D requirements
