Regional Business Development Manager, SE

Sells lighting solutions to end users in designated sales region. Works effectively with distributors, national accounts, and local businesses to meet sales objectives. Provides customer and sales information to operations and sales support for proposal generation and sales follow-up.

Role and Responsibilities:

Meets regional labor sales targets as established through the annual planning process. Focuses on improving close rate and profitable sales

Develops a regional sales strategy in support of the Company goal of ‘Owning Our Backyard’. Includes sales objectives and strategies related to (a) regional distributors, (b) national accounts, and (c) local business opportunities

Provides input to national sales objectives and participates actively in the planning of Company-wide sales goals and strategies. Serves as a resource to the Chief Sales Officer on identified national account sales. Brings in Chief Sales Officer on select customer engagements as appropriate to maximize sales

Assists region lighting/sales specialist to meet or exceed personal sales goals

Maintains and expands customer base by counseling regional lighting/sales specialists, building and maintaining rapport with key customers, and identifying new customer opportunities

Responsible for quality of sales within the region including sales mix, and sales profitability

Manages sales budget within the region

Reviews sales process and sales results quarterly to identify opportunities to recognize and reward performance, coach for improvement, and improve on proposal close rate and profitable sales

Works with the Sales Support Team by providing information needed for sales reporting. Requests help and information from Sales Support Team in support of regional sales goals

Works with the Operations Team in providing sales questionnaires and proposals on a ‘one and done’ basis. Provides input to proposal process in support of higher close rate and higher quality proposals

Manages workload for regional sales team. Provides performance feedback, coaching and performance expectations throughout year

Works with local Lighting/Sales Specialist to schedule audits and final proposals. Works with Install Team to ensure customer is kept up to date on timing of install

Reviews data from job costing to ensure better quality audits and profitable sales
