Assistant Project Manager – Junior Project Manager- Project Engineer

Commercial Construction – General Construction - Construction Management

An excellent Commercial Construction company in the Central New Jersey area is looking to hire an Assistant Project Manager or Project Engineer.

Examples of duties associated with this role:

  • Assist with the analysis of project requirements to prepare time, cost, materials, and labor estimates.
  • Review proposals for various scopes of work and award subcontracts accordingly.
  • Consult with clients, vendors, or construction personnel to analyze and formulate schedules and resolve issues.
  • Assist with the preparation of cost and expenditure statements and other necessary documentation at regular intervals for the duration and at the completion of the project.
  • Assess cost effectiveness of projects or services and tracking actual costs relative to bids as the project develops.
  • Provide independent analysis of project management organization, contractual issues, schedules, and financial metrics.
  • Assist the Project Manager with job processes (RFIs, submittals, and pay application) and negotiate subcontract change orders.
  • Monitor project procurement, including long-lead items while interacting with consultants, clients, and construction contractors.
  • Prepare meeting agendas, take detailed notes, and distribute notes to the appropriate individuals.

Experience and Qualifications:

  • Approximately three (3) or more years of experience focusing on project management in the construction industry. Projects are commercial focused, ranging from ground up, addition, renovation & fit out.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office
  • Must be comfortable learning and using industry software technology i.e., Procore, BlueBeam, Primavera, etc.)
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to read plans as required
  • BA/BS in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or a related field desired
  • Competitive comp package based on experience
