Job Description
SUMMARY
Under general supervision, performs a wide variety of complex support activities in the customer service function.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  1. Excellent attendance and punctuality a necessity.
  2. Responsible for entire order process which can include, but not limited to, quotes, expedites, order entry, credits, RMA's and technical inquiries.
  3. Responds to customer inquiries by researching status of order for repair, return, or field servicing.
  4. May interact with other departments to ensure delivery schedule.
  5. May provide product and pricing information.
  6. Maintain professional communication with external and internal customers to resolve customer problems, handle customer inquiries, manage order processes to ensure that IDEC will be viewed by customers as number one service provider.
  7. Intricate knowledge of on-line system to determine order status, pricing, inventory status, expedites, and customer base.
  8. Understand company and department objectives to exercise independent judgement in setting priorities in a multi-tasked, high pressure service environment.
  9. Monitor and review various reports( ie. backorder, schedules orders) to provide proactive information to customers.
  10. Promote harmonious work environment by respecting diverse, but equally productive, work/styles/methods.
  11. Attend training to continue to improve technical skills and understanding of all IDEC products.
  12. Requires excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  13. Other duties may be assigned.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Typically requires a high school education or equivalent and at least three years related experience.   Additionally, we require the passing of Idec’s Technical Test II.

LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.  Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.  Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.  Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

REASONING ABILITY
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products. Ability to grasp technical concepts, maintain professional demeanor. Willingness to participate in department team goals.
