Job Title: Employee Meal Chef

Reports To: Executive Chef

Summary: The Emerald Grande at HaborWalk Village is looking for someone who enjoys creating a dining atmosphere, to include an innovative and healthy weekly lunch menu, for our employee and Wyndham partners.

This is a Monday - Friday 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. job requiring food preparation and presentation skills, along with the desire to serve. This position gets the opportunity to interact with team members of all levels, making positive work connections while pleasing the palate.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include:
  • Consistently provide a warm welcome all coming to employee lunch and dinner
  • Create weekly lunch menu within budget
  • Ensure ingredients are fresh
  • Create weekly lunch menu within budget
  • Prep and prepare employee lunch and dinner daily
  • Ensure condiments, silverware and beverage station is set-up and stocked
  • Present, garnish and arrange dishes
  • Serve food in a timely manner
  • Maintain a clean and safe work area, including handling utensils, equipment, and dishes
  • Handle and store ingredients and food
  • Maintain food safety and sanitation standards
  • Clean and sanitize work areas, equipment, and utensils
  • Executive opening and closing procedures
  • Monitor inventory levels
  • Operate kitchen equipment such as broilers, ovens, grills, and fryers safely
  • Offer a fond farewell as employees depart
  • Other duties as assigned

Education, Experience & Skills Qualifications:
  • High School diploma or equivalent qualification
  • Certificate in culinary arts a plus
  • Minimum of 1-year previous experience in prepping and cooking in large quantities
  • Serv Safe certified
  • Excellent communication and organization skills
  • Aptitude for multi-tasking

Knowledge, Skill, and Ability Requirements Knowledge
  • Must have knowledge of industry trends and be comfortable experimenting with new meal ideas
  • Excellent people skills to include public speaking and activity coordination.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills
  • Organization and time management skills
  • Ability to handle multiple guests and operational demands with a high degree of professionalism, operating often with time deadlines

Language Skills

Must be able to speak, read, write, and comprehend the English language. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

Reasoning Ability

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

License Requirements

Valid driver's license that has been in effect for at least three years, with no major violations and no more than two minor violations in the past three years.

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to sit; reach with hands and arms; talk or hear and taste or smell. The employee is frequently required to stand; walk and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. The employee must be able to lift 5-15 pounds regularly, and over 15 pounds with assistance, upon occasion.
