ASSOCIATE WEALTH ADVISOR
To collaborate with Legacy Capital’s President as well as other Wealth Management Advisors as an integral member of the team. To develop a deep understanding of the products and strategies unique to Legacy Capital in the context of planning and investing for firm clients. The position anticipates serving as lead advisor for 50 to 100 client families. The role requires a CFP designation and will lead and oversee the Legacy Capital financial planning services. There is no requirement for bringing new business to the firm.
1. Client Relationship Management
a. Tier 1 clients ($3M plus in AUM) – Serve as secondary contact when the primary Wealth Advisor is unavailable, answering routine investment, financial planning and/ or insurance related questions from clients.
b. Tier 2 ($1M to $3M) and Tier 3 (under $1M) – approximately 50-75 clients – After a period of integration, assume responsibility as lead advisor to serve and cultivate existing Tier 2 and 3 relationships. These clients will include all clients brought from prior firm (if any) as well as existing Legacy Capital clients. Duties will include:
i. Preparation of and updating to financial plans of the client
ii. Analysis of asset allocation and rebalancing as needed
iii. Preparation for and presentation of client reviews (in coordination with the Registered Client Services Associate), and
iv. Analysis and integration of clients’ non-Legacy Capital holdings.
2. Strategy Analysis and Other Responsibilities
a. Implement Legacy models within the existing Tier 2 and 3 client base
b. Become an expert in all Legacy Capital core investment managers/ funds
c. Be involved in analysis and purchase of fixed income securities, and
d. Oversee and manage the investment performance reporting system for all Legacy Capital clients and advisors.
Growth and development as well as performance will be evaluated by the Legacy Capital President.
The position will be an employee of Legacy Capital with a base salary and incentive compensation, commensurate with the individual candidate’s experience, training, and profitability for the firm. Extraordinary advisors who show potential and aptitude for developing new client relationships and driving revenue may be eligible for a Senior Wealth Advisor position.
Required Experience and Characteristics
*Three-plus years of experience in the securities industry and Series 7/63 licenses or Series 66 license
*College degree in Finance or related business field
*Ability to communicate comfortably with clients and prospective clients in a professional, competent and engaging manner
*Strong asset allocation background, with manager and fund due diligence experience
*Strong knowledge and practical experience using Microsoft Excel (complex formulas, charting, graphing, multiple worksheets)
*Strong work ethic, self-starter, punctual, requiring little management oversight
*Strong analytical skills, quick thinker with the ability to multi-task
*In-depth knowledge of financial planning processes and prior usage of industry software (such as eMoney, Money Guide Pro, Morningstar)
Preferable Additional Experience
*High level understanding of basic to more complex estate planning
*High level understanding of business and entity structures such as FLPs, LLCs, partnerships, C and S corporations, including taxation differences
*Advanced degrees and/ or designations such as ChFC, MBA, CPA, JD or CFA
*Knowledge of RedTail or other CRM platforms
*Experience in the design and integration of life insurance in the planning process
