Job Description

Leadtail is a growing B2B social media agency, looking for a smart, flexible, and collaborative marketer with expertise in paid social media strategy and execution.

Please note this is a B2B subject matter expert role, not an entry level position. We are looking only at candidates with significant hands on experience with the LinkedIn and Twitter ad platforms at this time (Facebook/Instagram experience only is not sufficient for this role).

We envision this role will span three core areas of responsibility:

 

Communication and Strategy

  • Consult with Leadtail clients to surface and understand their business goals

  • Use our frameworks and your expertise to develop and confidently communicate paid social strategies

  • Establish and grow relationships with platform experts and extended client teams

  • Regularly produce and present client-facing deliverables using Excel and PowerPoint

  • Bring an "ownership" mindset to improving templates, workflows, and processes

  • Perform research and analysis on paid strategies and share insights with internal team and clients

 

Planning, Execution, and Optimization

  • Turn high level strategies into detailed, actionable plans that include resource requirements, key deliverables, dependencies and timelines

  • Define audiences and segmentation for targeting and retargeting campaigns

  • Break down each campaign to a fine level of detail e.g., audience parameters, ad unit types, KPIs, creative/copy combinations, budget caps and allocations

  • Manage the production, delivery, and approval of all campaign components

  • Setup and launch campaigns using the native ad managers for LinkedIn, Twitter, and Facebook

  • Maintain current knowledge of inner workings and status of all campaigns

  • Identify and quickly resolve campaign performance issues in real time as needed

  • Recommend tools and help create templates to make campaign setup and management more efficient and transparent

 

Analysis and Reporting

  • Oversee social media budgets, pacing and monthly billing reconciliation

  • Produce and present weekly, monthly, and quarterly reports for each client

  • Conduct quarterly reviews of paid social strategy with the account teams

  • Combine benchmarks, performance metrics and expert analysis to tell the “story” behind campaign performance numbers

  • Research and develop benchmarks for assessing campaign and program performance

 

Preparing for Success

Here's a by-no-means exhaustive list of attributes that, we think, form the foundation for success in this role and our company

  • 3-5 years directly managing paid social campaigns (agency or in-house B2B strongly preferred)

  • 1-2 years managing staff and/or agency partners

  • Solid understanding of acquisition marketing and latest paid social trends

  • Strong knowledge of Google Analytics, LinkedIn/Twitter/Facebook advertising analytics

  • Hands-on experience with bid management, campaign creation and audience building

  • Comfort in the ‘subject matter expert’ role, including ad hoc questions from clients

  • A deep and abiding love of spreadsheets expressed through your expert Excel skills

  • An even deeper love of replacing spreadsheets with tools that make people's lives easier :)

 

About Leadtail

We're an all-remote team which means you can have the autonomy and flexibility of freelancing, without giving up the camaraderie and impact of working as part of a team. We typically work in our own locations and get together for meetings or working sessions via video conference or in person as needed. We're in frequent contact with each other and our clients throughout the day via email, phone, and Slack.

This is a 1099 contract position. We're looking for folks who can commit to 30-40 hours per week starting no later than July 15, 2020. The rate is $35/hr - $45/hr with a commitment to review compensation after 6 months.
