Church Membership & Statement of Faith Our employees come from a broad range of church backgrounds. Nevertheless, employees are expected to be a member in good standing of a church whose doctrinal convictions and statement of faith are not in conflict with the ministry. To make sure everyone understands our theological foundations, we require that all employees subscribe to the following Statement of Faith, avoid public statements conflicting with the Statement of Faith, and seek to conduct themselves in a manner consistent with the beliefs set forth in the Statement of Faith. STATEMENT OF FAITH In accordance with Scriptural teaching and the constant moral teaching of the universal Church, we believe: 1. THE WHOLE SCRIPTURE MUST BE HONORED. The Holy Scripture is God-breathed, and therefore to be read, loved and obeyed in its entirety (II Timothy 3:16). 2. THE GOSPEL OF JESUS CHRIST IS THE ONLY WAY TO SALVATION. The Gospel of Jesus Christ is the only means by which we can be saved from the eternal judgment of hell (John 14:6; Galatians 1:6-9; John 3:16-21). The Gospel attests: (1) Jesus Christ's virgin birth (Luke 1:26-38); (2) His sinless life (Hebrews 4:15); (3) His substitutionary death upon the cross of Calvary (2 Corinthians 5:21); (4) His literal and physical resurrection on the third day (Luke 24:1-49, John 20:1-30); (5) His ascension to the right hand of the Father in Heaven (Matthew 26:64, Luke 22:69, Acts 7:55-56); and (6) His literal return to take the believers with Him to Heaven (John 14:1-4). 3. JESUS CHRIST IS THE UNIQUE REVELATION OF GOD. Only Jesus Christ, born of a pure virgin (Luke 1:26-38), fully reveals God the Father (John 1:18, John 14:8-12). Jesus was fully man, but at the same time fully God (John 1:14, Hebrews 2:14-18). No other person was, is, or will be like Him (John 1:14, John 3:16, I John 4:9). Like us, He was tempted in every way. Yet He never sinned (Hebrews 4:15). He alone can save repentant sinners from eternal judgment and hell (Acts 4:12, Romans 1:3-4). 4. JESUS CHRIST WAS LITERALLY AND PHYSICALLY RESURRECTED. Jesus' actual and bodily resurrection from the dead is a cornerstone of our faith (I Corinthians 15:12-20). It is the guarantee that those who trust in Him cannot be trapped by death (Hebrews 9:15, I Corinthians 15:55-56). Any attempt to dilute this belief – by passing it off as a resurrection of the spirit or as a vision experienced by the disciples – should be rejected summarily (Luke 24:36-43). 5. THE HOLY SPIRIT IS THE AGENT OF SALVATION. As promised in John 14, the Holy Spirit of God, the third person of the Trinity, is the gift sent by Jesus Christ to those who trust in Him (John 14:15-17). The Holy Spirit convicts men and women of sin and leads them to salvation (John 16:7-11, John 16:13-15). He brings light to the spiritually blind (John 15:26, II Thessalonians 2:2, II Corinthians 3:6-18). He empowers believers to grow into Christ's likeness (Galatians 5:22-26). He presents our prayers to the throne room of God, and is the agent through whom the answers to our prayers are enacted. 6. THE GOSPEL MUST BE PROCLAIMED IN EVERYTHING WE DO. Anyone taking a position of leadership in the corporation must ensure that the Gospel message is proclaimed to the world in both word and deed. Any work not accompanied by proclam
