Job Description

Winholt’s Allentown, PA site is looking for an experienced Manufacturing Manager to facilitate the operational objectives centered on meeting an aggressive sales growth plan. 


General Job Description:

The Manufacturing Manager role is a newly created position, reporting directly to the Operations Manager.  This individual will be responsible for all Stainless Steel, Aluminum and Steel Fabrication operations including Welding (MIG and TIG), Cutting/Punching, Forming/Bending, Final Assembly and Inspection.  The respective department supervisors will report to this position.

This role is key to the success of the division.  The Manufacturing Manager will work closely with peers and co-workers to achieve the common goal of meeting corporate and divisional goals and objectives.



  • Utilizing the company’s ERP system, generates production plans/schedules to meet customer ship dates.
  • Drives production output to meet monthly sales goals.
  • Monitors production capacity and occupancy and makes recommendations for manpower requirements.
  • Evaluates Associate performance and prepares/conducts direct report’s periodic performance evaluations.
  • Monitors Associate work times and takes corrective actions as needed.
  • Monitors product quality and take corrective action as needed and through data analysis, monitors effectiveness.
  • Maintains tooling inventory including machine tools, hand tools, abrasives, welding supplies and measuring devices, etc.
  • Ensures all associates under his/her direction follow safe working practices as outlined by the company and outside agencies.  Is a member of the safety committee.
  • Monitors inventory stock levels and works with the Materials Management team to ensure materials levels are maintained.
  • Assists in inventory cycle counting and semi/annual physical inventory counts.
  • Identifies improvement opportunities within his/her departments and develops and implements continuous improvement activities.
  • Monitors operating costs in the department including materials usage, overtime and factory supplies and adjusts to meet budgetary goals.


Position Requirements

  • Must have a working knowledge of the following operations and the ability to troubleshoot and train.
  • Laser cutting
  • turret punching
  • metal shearing
  • bending/forming
  • mechanical assembly operations. 
  • brake press operations
  • MIG/TIG welding procedures
  • Must be familiar with ERP systems and be able to utilize the system as part of daily operations.
  • Experience with MS Office suite including Word, Excel, Outlook, and Teams.
  • Spends up to 50% of the day on the shop floor leading, coaching and driving productivity.
  • Mechanical working knowledge of metal fabrication equipment.  Ability to troubleshoot.
  • ERP/MRP Experience
  • Ability to use measuring devices and perform basic mathematical calculations.
  • Work overtime as needed, including periodic weekend work as required.



·        High School Diploma, Bachelor’s Degree preferred.

·        5-years’ experience in sheet metal fabrication in a supervisory/leadership role

·        Has had leadership responsibility of up to 20 direct reports.
