We are seeking a highly motivated Transportation Operations Manager with knowledge and experience in management, budgeting, DOT compliance, and logistics to work in a fast paced environment.
Responsibilities:
- In-depth knowledge of the field of transportation and logistics
- Expert knowledge in DOT compliance with hours of service rules, hazmat, licensing and permitting
- Manage dispatchers in multiple states/sites.
- Oversee fleet maintenance for a fleet of 100 tractors and 140 trailer/tankers
- Efficiency expertise in balancing cost and customer service
- Able to handle high pressure, fast-paced environment
- Ability to communicate effectively and clearly with all levels of the organization, including 'C' level
- Manage department budget and recommend capital expenditures to increase efficiency and services of transportation operations
- Must have experience in budgeting multi-site expenses and capital expenditures
- Oversee safety compliance and accident investigations
- Monitor driver, dispatcher, and mechanic performance and recommend areas for improvement
- Logistics and routing experience a plus
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in business or related field. Master’s degree preferred
- At least ten years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Five years of supervisory experience
- Strong project management skills
- Strong problem solving and critical thinking skills
- Strong leadership qualities
