Accounting Assistant (Entry-Level Billing/Payroll/Data Entry)

Leading Health Care of Louisiana (LHCL) is a Home & Community Based Service Provider, providing in-home personal caregiving assistance to the elderly and persons with disabilities. As Accounting Assistant, you will work as part of a team that processes timesheets from Direct Support Workers, bills time to Medicaid, and prepares payroll checks.

Responsibilities:

  • Work with team to process bi-weekly payroll quickly, efficiently, and accurately
  • Bill, adjust, and re-bill time as needed to ensure that LHCL is paid for services rendered
  • Monitor and resolve overlaps, exceeded caps, and other issues blocking billing
  • Utilize the LaSRS Electronic Visit Verification (EVV) system to monitor real-time service logging and identify discrepancies
  • Track prior authorizations to ensure billable services do not exceed available hours
  • Assist with reporting as needed (employment verifications, payroll reports, etc.)
  • Act as point of contact for employee payroll questions
  • Communicate ongoing issues with Staffing, Client Care, and HR departments
  • Comply with all guidelines established by LDH, Medicaid, and LHCL
  • Establish and maintain a professional and open line of communication with affiliates of LHCL
  • Model the LHCL values of Compassion, Trust, Integrity, and Accountability
  • Additional tasks related to Accounting Department functions as requested

Requirements:

  • High School diploma
  • Preferred: 2+ years of billing experience for a PCA or HCBS provider
  • Proficient with computers and office equipment
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Self-directing and able to work with little supervision
  • Punctual, professional and dependable
  • Must satisfactorily pass all required and applicable State & Federal eligibility verifications, including background, driving and other record checks

Office hours are 8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 8:30 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. Friday.
