Quality Control Analyst - Pharma

Job Description:

Involves developing, evaluating, revising, applying and documenting technical quality assurance protocols, methods and test plans to inspect and test a variety of IT processes, software and products. Ensures activities and items are in compliance with both campus, medical center or Office of the President IT quality assurance standards and applicable government regulations and software / product design specifications to determine and approve software releases. Performs analysis and identifies trends in the inspection of IT processes, software and products and recommends corrective actions when necessary. Ensures that established inspection, sampling and statistical process control procedures are followed. Involved in developing, auditing, monitoring and enforcing the established release management processes and policies in support of cross-domain configuration integration, testing, completeness and consistency.

Key Responsibilities

  • Performs complex procedures to ensure that all information systems products and services meet minimum organization standards and end-user requirements.
  • Analyzes and develops complex test scripts, test plans and the test execution plans.
  • Performs complex testing of software to ensure proper operation and conformance to test plans.
  • Implements release management by applying the application life-cycle management release process and principles.
  • Creates and maintains testing libraries in support of the software development process and life cycle.
  • Recommends and implements improvements to procedures and develops models of possible future configurations. Employs complex tools to perform work flow analysis and recommends quality improvements.
  • Guides migration of new and upgraded software from test to production environment. Analyzes requests for new software upgrades or enhancements. Administers release engineering tools.
  • Serves as leader within department from project proposal phase through completion, planning, testing, migrations, documentation, production and customer support. Employs project life cycle and industry practices, community standards and department policies and procedures on project assignments. Serves as a technical lead for unit in the development of new QA and Release Management standards and guidelines. Acts as information resource about assigned areas to technical writers and other Quality Assurance Analysts.
  • Works with developers, other test team members and business Subject Matter Experts to design test scenarios and test cases based on requirements and design.
