Job Description OverviewThe primary responsibilities of the Network Engineer will be to build, expand, and maintain the organization's network and data infrastructure while keeping security at the forefront in supporting production operations.  The Network Engineer position requires taking a lead role in systems implementation and engineering. The Network Engineer is responsible for overseeing the day to day operations of all enterprise networking systems including networking infrastructure (cabling, router, communications networks).The position will provide higher-level support for other members of the infrastructure support team including Helpdesk.Essential Functions·       Oversees day to day operations of the corporate network, equipment, WAN/LAN, VoIP, establishes and maintains network performance·       Installs and configures complex network hardware, software, and peripheral equipment; troubleshoots, diagnoses, and resolves server and networked devices, hardware and software problems·       Responsible for remote connectivity over the WAN and VPN including L2L and IPsec tunnels·       Monitors and analyzes systems and appliances to optimize performance; monitors network activity, and maintains system performance, error and recovery logs·       Researches, reports, and works to correct network and using SIEM and other automation tools·       Responsible for maintaining and improving the operational functionality of various servers, communications, and LAN, WAN, and VoIP networks and system·       Supports and maintains cyber-security policies and procedures·       Assists and supports the implementation of new technologies·       Setup, configure, and support internal and/or external networks·       Collaborates, implements, and carries out disaster recovery procedures·       Provide and maintain documentation related to network systems and applications·       Rapid response for network performance issues, correct problem(s), and implements solutions·       Make and review recommendations for additional equipment and technologies as necessary·       Assist in determining vendor and product selection·       Configures and maintains Cloud Networking·       Provides technical support, training, and guidance to co-workers and end-users·       Works towards recommending, developing, and implementing solutions and strategies built around business requirements and needs·       Aids in developing network policies for IT and end-users·       Creates and maintains network diagrams·       Stay abreast of how technology infrastructures are currently impacting and driving competitors·       May be required to work flexible hours or be available for emergency response for network failures; will be on-call and may travel to remote sites for onsite support as needed·       Performs other duties as assigned by the IT Operations ManagerNon-essential functions·       Move computer equipment weighing over 50 pounds infrequently around the building·       Ability to install, repair, and maintain computer equipment which may require the use of a ladder·       Asset decommissioning and recycling·       Handle the shipping of equipment to remote offices or vendorsRequired Qualifications and Education·       3 to 5 years’ experience in Network Engineering·       Preferred certifications in CCNP, CCIE, CISSP, and Security+Physical DemandsReasonable accommodations can be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.·       Must be able to remain in a stationary position 7+ hours·       Must be able to occasionally move about inside the office to access PC’s, servers and other network equipment·       Must be able to lift 50 pounds·       Must be able to communicate verbally and written·       Must be able to read from a screenDisclaimerNothing in this job description restricts management’s right to assign or reassign duties and responsibilities to this job at any time.LeMans Corporation is an equal opportunity employer.
