An established Personal Injury law firm in the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre region with a proven track record is seeking a full-time Paralegal. This is an excellent opportunity to join a successful firm offering challenging work within a professional legal practice.
This position will work closely with attorneys in managing the assigned cases during the pre-litigation phase. As a member of this team, you must be able to independently perform a variety of complex legal duties with limited supervision.
Paralegal Responsibilities Include:
Maintaining electronic and physical files for assigned cases.
Reviewing assigned file and obtaining authorizations, police reports, medical records, insurance information, medical records and photos.
Mailing correspondence to client and sending letters of representation to all parties.
Obtaining insurance information and communicating with adjusters.
Reviewing, organizing and summarizing case materials.
Requesting wage loss information, confirming liens and obtaining defendant information.
Preparing demand packages and negotiating settlements with adjusters.
Updating attorneys and obtaining approval for case strategy.
Completing a comprehensive file review every thirty (30) days.
3-5+ years experience as a Paralegal
Previous experience with Personal Injury matters is preferred
Ability to independently perform a variety of complex paralegal duties with limited supervision
Possesses a solid understanding of legal and medical terminology
Strong organization and oral/written communication skills
Must be willing to work occasional overtime
