Reports To: Plant Manager
Summary and General Responsibilities
Directs and coordinates activities of workers engaged in repair, maintenance, and installation of machines, tools, and equipment, and in the maintenance of buildings, grounds, and utility systems of industrial laundry plant. Responsible for Maintenance, PM personnel, and Upkeep.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Review job orders to determine work priorities.
Schedules repair, maintenance, and installation of machines, tools, and equipment to ensure continuous production operations.
Coordinates activities of workers fabricating or modifying machines and tools.
Directs maintenance activities on utility systems to provide a continuous supply of heat, steam, electric power, gas, or air required for operations.
Develops and monitors preventive maintenance program in conjunction with management staff.
Reviews production, quality control, and maintenance reports and statistics to plan and modify maintenance activities and work schedules.
Inspects and troubleshoots operating machines and equipment for conformance with operational standards.
Plans, develop and implements new methods and procedures designed to improve operations, minimize operating costs, and effect greater utilization of labor and materials.
Reviews new product plans and discusses equipment needs and modifications with management.
Directs the requisition and purchase of tools, equipment, and supplies required for operations.
Directs training and of workers to improve work performance and acquaint workers with company policies and procedures. Ensures staff conforms to company policy and procedures including lock-out tag out, safe working practices, and infection control policies.
Confers with management personnel to resolve maintenance problems and recommend measures to improve operations and conditions of machines and equipment.
Establishes goals and objectives for the department.

Industrial/Commercial/Healthcare laundry experience needed.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Five to seven years’ experience with installing, maintaining, and repairing equipment and supervising a maintenance department.
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret equipment manuals, installation procedures, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, customers, and the general public.
Must be adept at reading both blueprints and electrical schematics.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts; high, precarious places; the risk of electrical shock, high factory heat level, and humidity. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. The physical requirements of the job, including but not limited to, repeated bending, standing, stooping, pulling, stretching, twisting, climbing ladders, and lifting of up to 50 lbs.
This job is a working position, limited office work required.
