Roles and Responsibilities: Model Safe behaviors at all times. Follow company quality control standards to include in process inspection and documentation. Knowledge of safety standards for equipment being run. Must be able to make decisions, communicate effectively across departments, train and works well with others in a team environment. Design and make fixturing for first run parts that will go to the production floor. Monitor and troubleshoot non-conforming parts as they occur Produce and inspect parts with the ability to offer continuous improvement opportunities Setup and run CNC & manual mills, CNC & manual lathes, surface grinder and other shop machines as needed. Deburr own parts as required. Provide direction and assist others with machining practices and issue
Required Job Knowledge, Skills and Experience: Minimum of 3-8 years’ experience High school diploma or GED required. Application of machine shop theory and procedures, shop mathematics (algebra, geometry and trigonometry). Advanced measurement skills including GD&T, CMM and optical comparator. Knowledge of tooling capabilities (speeds/feeds and insert grades) Must be proficient in G and M codes and editing CNC programs to set up and run complex parts with the understanding of CAD/CAM. Ability to read, interpret technical drawings, routers, work instructions and specifications. Strong communication, critical thinking, and multi-tasking abilities Ability and willingness to train Level I and II machinists. Must be a U.S. Citizen Attendance and punctuality at work are essential functions of this position. Preferred Job Knowledge, Skills and Experience: Lathe and/or Mill experience preferred College Course work preferred Master Cam preferred Ability to setup and run EDM is a plus.
