Windows Systems Administrator (Remote)

Salary: $110,000 - 120,000/year
This position is fully remote. Candidates must be able to report for occasional meetings to the NIH in Rockville, MD.
This position will also work closely with other Network and System Analysts in support of general IT Infrastructure disaster recovery. Manage an Enterprise wide Software Deployment strategy using Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager. Build, maintain, and deploy standardized, current images of various Operating Systems on multiple HW platforms. Support, and update a Virtual Desktop Infrastructure. Provide 3rd level support to the Support teams via the resolution of escalated application, operating system, deployment, and hardware issues. Document installation and configuration procedures.
+ Maintain applications in software center
+ Creates and deploys applications to machines with configuration manager
+ Maintains and deploys 3rd party application patches via configuration manager
+ Creates and deploys specialty scripts to resolve issues that are occurring companywide (ex. Startup repair loop after power outage)
+ Maintain Windows OS corporate images, he has taken lead on this project and will be responsible for future revisions and updating of the images deployed to machines
+ Work closely with the other departments to deploy and maintain special software packages to specific users (ex. Business application, data warehouse, infrastructure services)
+ Work closely with the security analysts for vulnerability detections and patch management
+ Create and maintain processes and procedures that will be the standards for software maintenance across the company
+ Create, and maintain reports for machines that need to be remediated if they do not receive the automated patches or updates
+ Work closely with the IT team to make sure machines are remediated and that they have the tools to make this easier (working towards automation to save time)
+ Assist with integration of new products to the machines (ex. Tenable io, bitlocker)
+ Solarwinds Patch Manager - In current stages now working with Infrastructure and Data warehouse to get a database setup and after that integrate the software with WSUS and SCCM. Once this is completed he will be responsible for the 3rd party patching to machines company wide and keeping supported applications and machines patched.
+ Work with other team members in assessing requirements and developing action plans for accomplishing company goals through appropriate technical solutions.
+ Provide Level 3 leadership, technical expertise, and guidance to all of End User Support Team
REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
+ 5+ years of experience in as a systems administrator.
+ Experience with KACE
+ Experience with Tenable Security Center
+ Experience configuring and administering Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM)
+ Ability to create PowerShell scripts to maintain and query Active Directory and Microsoft online services
+ Windows Server 2012 and 2016 administration and configuration
+ Microsoft Office 2016 experience
+ Familiarity with designing and deploying cloud-based systems
+ Critical thinking/problem solving skills
