As Instructor of Performing Arts and Wellness you will teach extracurricular activities such as drama, dance, music, voice, musical instruments, art, yoga, and mindfulness. You will accommodate and modify the curriculum to meet the needs of our individuals as well as organize special events to showcase class projects and expose students to performing arts inside Latham and within the community. You will have direct, active and constructive participation with students and colleagues as well as active cooperation with teachers, clinical staff, and direct care staff. This position is directly responsible to the School Principal.
The ideal candidate will have experience teaching, modifying and adapting curriculum to individuals with special needs in performing arts and wellness activities. The ability to role model skills in areas such as voice, dance, drama and various physical wellness activities such as yoga. Bachelor/Masters in Education and/or related certifications are preferred. Must exhibit ambulatory ability sufficient to physically intervene in instances of extreme behavior that might jeopardize the safety of students and/or staff. MA driver’s license required.
40 hours Monday - Friday 7:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.
