POSITION SUMMARY
This position requires the ability to write PLC programs for equipment. The ability to troubleshoot equipment is a must. Basic hand tools are required for this position. Design from concept to completion machine controls and PLC programming.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Troubleshoot equipment, recommend corrections, and provide solutions
- Electrical and electronic control system design, fabrication, and troubleshooting, to support both current operations and new equipment builds
- Identify areas for automation improvements, or new automation, and then working with a mechanical designer to create, design, justify, fabricate, program test, debug, install and commission your solution
- Support maintenance and operations with PLC and electronic issues when needed
- Monitor and support live-time manufacturing data acquisition systems, including creation of customer dashboards
- Create palletizer stack programs (via PLC) to support new products and requested customer changes to provide skid configurations
- Interface with corporate IT when projects require and provide on-site assistance when needed
- Must be hands on and capable to running wiring, building control cabinets, HMI (Human Machine Interface) panels, light mechanical fabrication
- Knowledge of robotics and EOAT (End of Arm Tooling), including collaborative applications, is a plus
- Travel to other sites minimal
- Perform other duties as required
QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS
- Engineering degree or equivalent
- 5-10 years manufacturing environment
- 5-10 years of technical experience required
- Knowledge of electrical, PLC programming & industrial networks, mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic and/or electronic equipment and systems required. OMROM expertise is a plus
