Job Description


The Senior Field General Manager’s role is to provide high level support to the hub network and operational units. The incumbent has all the required GM experience, is flexible, and can easily step into a facility and identify areas that require improvement. The incumbent will travel to facilities to implement operational processes and strategies to improve performance.


  • Works with all departments within the company to help develop operational procedures across the board.
  • Works with Engineering department to develop operational standards.
  • Implements and trains operations on how to use the standards and processes developed and gain efficiencies in the operation.
  • Visits facilities and reevaluates how they are performing, offering assistance in any needed areas.
  • Works with RGM to create and manage strategic projects
  • Performs at the local GM level during incumbent’s absences or leave of absence or as an interim GM during staffing transition
  • Acts in a project manager role to spearhead network wide projects and initiatives
  • Implements and trains how to use data for metric reporting and process improvement

This position requires:
• Above average skill in Microsoft windows applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

• Advanced reading and conversational skills
• Able to analyze reports and develop strategies to improve
• Knowledge of all HUB codes and acronyms

Work Environment:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee will work in warehouse and office environment. The employee is regularly exposed to fumes or airborne particles. The employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts and outside weather conditions. The noise level is usually moderate.

Physical Demands:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to stand, walk, use hands to handle or feel, and reach with hands and arms. The employee is frequently required to communicate verbally. The employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel, bend, climb, push, pull, twist or crouch. The physical activity associated with this position is considered high. The employee will regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

Minimum Requirements:

Requires a minimum of 5-7 year’s supervisory experience in regional small package carriers industry, or other similar industry.
