Bethel Community Church (bethelcommunitychurch.org) is prayerfully seeking full-time Associate Pastor.

Requirements

The Candidate

We are praying for a godly man who is committed to helping people become faithful followers of Jesus Christ. Has a heart to minister and shepherd alongside the senior pastor and elders to the local church body. The Associate Pastor must meet the qualifications of a teaching elder and hold to the final authority of God's word. He will help shepherd God's flock through teaching, occasional preaching, discipleship, visitation and pastoral care.

The Qualifications

1. Clear, personal testimony of salvation followed by baptism by immersion.
2. Be devoted to helping people become faithful followers of Jesus Christ.
3. Fulfill the biblical requirements for an overseer or shepherd from 1 Timothy 3: 1 -7; Titus 1: 5 - 9 and 1 Peter 5: 1-4.
4. Be in complete agreement with the Statement of Faith of Bethel Community Church.
5. Loves God deeply. Committed to daily bible reading and prayer. Demonstrates a growing personal relationship with Christ.
6. Have the ability and conviction to accurately handle and preach the entire counsel of God's word without apology or compromise.
7. Willing to work alongside the senior pastor and the board of elders.
8. Committed to equip the body to grow and mature in Christ. (Ephesians 4: 11 - 16).
9. Models loving leadership as a husband and father, if married with children.
10. Willing to demonstrate a Christ-like attitude through all interactions with the church body, church staff and elders.
11. Minimum of a Bachelors of Bible and Theology.

Teaching Responsibilities:

1. Faithfully teach the truth of scripture using God's word with particular emphasis on teaching that

2. Committed to the expositional preaching of the Scriptures through an exegetical and systematic approach intent on teaching the whole counsel of Scripture. (2 Timothy 4: 1 - 3; Acts 20: 27; & 2 Timothy 2: 15).

3. Equip others to lead and be involved in teaching Scriptural truth for Sunday services and Adult Sunday School classes, as well as outside of Sunday morning worship services.

4. Develop a strategy to help people to think biblically and grow in a biblically based world view (Colossians 2: 6 - 8; 2 Corinthians 10: 3 - 5; Romans 12: 1 - 2).

5. Assist the Senior Pastor in teaching responsibilities.

Shepherding Responsibilities: (1 Peter 5: 1 - 3)

1. Model what it means to be a faithful follower of Jesus.

2. Willing to Disciple others including counseling as needed. (Matthew 28: 19 - 20; 2 Timothy 2: 2).

3. Demonstrate a sincere love and concern for the flock through personal ministry of pastoral care.

4. Spend time on a daily basis praying for the needs of the church body.

5. Administer, along with elders and staff, the ordinances of baptism and communion.

6. Willing to oversee various kinds of worship services, including Sunday morning, special services, funerals, and weddings.

7. Initiate outreach to the community that moves the demonstration of the gospel beyond the walls of the physical facility.

Benefits

The Compensation

$60,000 - $80,000, Depending on experience and education.
