Job Summary

This position supports business growth and success by developing innovative solutions to business problems and managing the resulting change. This role will be responsible for managing internal customer relationships and supporting project success. The IT Business Systems Analyst I will apply a methodical approach in identifying customer needs, developing business solutions, eliciting, and prioritizing business requirements, and translating business requirements into functional and technical specifications. Analyst will collaborate with the right cross-functional stakeholders from Operations, IT, Sales, Supply Chain, HR, Accounting, and Engineering to enable operational excellence while managing change. This role is based at the corporate office in Houston, Texas, and reports to the IT Applications Manager, but will work with all Lamons domestic and international locations.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

+ Work with business stakeholders to gather requirements and complete artifacts, including solution design support

+ Review requirements with stakeholders and the project team

+ Translate complex concepts in ways that can be understood by a variety of audiences

+ Contribute to the architecture and design of business application solutions

+ Develop technical specifications and functional design documents

+ Support all phases of the software development lifecycle (SDLC)

+ Lead internal review sessions with all levels, including senior leadership

+ Document, discuss and resolve business, data and reporting issues within the team, across functional teams, and with business stakeholders

+ Collaborate with project stakeholders and technical teams regarding enhancements, changes, issues and defects that may impact development, data, workflow and/or functionality

+ Present written and verbal data analysis findings, to both the project team and business stakeholders

+ Incorporate best practices and standards in report/dashboard development

+ Function as a lead on projects/initiatives as necessary

Job Specifications


+ Ability to plan and design testing methods, scenarios, and cases

+ Demonstrated business partnering skills with business leaders

+ Functional and technical requirements gathering, documentation and process mapping

+ Proven computer skills in the of Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio and Project

+ Ability to collect, clean, analyze, and present complex data, including writing SQL queries

+ Excellent organization, file management, written and verbal communication skills

+ Demonstrated ability to work effectively and positively with a wide variety of resources

+ Solid presentation and training facilitation accompanied by supporting materials creation skills

+ Strong administrative and interpersonal communication skills

+ Teamwork - able to facilitate effective team interaction

+ Ability to be effective working in-person and remotely, as needed


+ Bachelor's degree in any IT related field required

+ Masters in IT related field is preferred

Work Experience

+ 0-5 years of experience gathering business requirements and translating into functional and technical documentation

+ 0-3 years of experience working as a Business Analyst in a complex organization, as well as communicating with senior level business leaders and stakeholders, and creating advanced SQL queries with relational databases

+ Experience with Infor SyteLine ERP in a multi-site configuration preferred

+ Experience analyzing and manipulating unstructured data

+ Experience using mainstream Business Intelligence Tools

+ Business analyst experience gained in an IT environment

+ Global manufacturing experience

+ Experience integrating Syteline with other cloud-based application systems

+ Experience with Salesforce preferred but not required

Physical Requirements

+ Willingness to travel up to 35% domestic and international

+ Must be able to articulate and communicate clearly on a wide range of issues

+ Visual acuity to process paperwork

+ Capable of listening with intent

+ Ability to work in an office environment with occasional visits to a manufacturing shop floor environment
