Job Title: Director, Human Resources Reports To: Vice President, Americas FLSA Status: Exempt Position Type: Full Time Base Location: Denver, CO POSITION SUMMARY: In this key leadership role with Laminaar Americas, the Director of Human Resources will provide overall leadership in all functional areas of HR in support of our people strategies. Partnering directly with our leadership team, and reporting to VP, Americas, the role will bring the expertise needed to develop the culture and employee experience that support our vision, strategy and continued growth and success. Success in the role will require in depth knowledge of all human resource areas: talent acquisition, talent develop and retention, employee relations, policy development and management, learning, benefits, compliance and employee culture. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: • Develop, in collaboration with leadership team, the overall people strategy, goals and on-going solutions to support the company’s vision. • Counsel, coach and train management on recruiting, performance management, employee relations, work environment issues, organizational change and leadership. • Partner in the development, implementation and continuous improvement of employee policies and procedures; Provide guidance on same. • Educate management and employees regarding employee selection and development, performance management, employee relations and Federal, State and local employee leave programs. • Investigate employee relations issues, complaints and conflicts in the workplace including appropriate documentation and follow-up. Provide guidance to management and employees to reduce issues in the workplace and recommendations on how to reduce risk. • Oversee the onboarding process of new employees, guiding managers and leaders in the integration of new hires into the Laminaar culture. • Conduct exit interviews, providing feedback, reporting and analysis to leadership. • Maintain current knowledge of legal requirements, assess risks, and look for solutions to stay ahead of future regulations • Analyze trends and metrics to develop innovative solutions, programs and policies • Manage HR vendor relationships, assess and recommend changes to vendor relationships • Assess, RFP and select HRIS that will support long term company needs EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: • Bachelor’s degree in Business, HR, Organization Development plus 5 years HR management experience; or • 10+ Years of progressive HR management and/or leadership experience • SHRM or HRCI Certification preferred • Other management and HR management experience considered SPECIALTY KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES: • SME with local, regional and national labor laws • Experience with full staffing lifecycle, including the recruiting, interview and onboarding, retention and performance management and legal separation process • Knowledge of Aviation and Technology industry (major disciplines within our company) workforce planning • Experience in conflict resolution GENERAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES: • Skilled and knowledgeable of customer service techniques and in conflict management. Ability to interact and execute to the highest degree of professionalism and integrity and contribute towards company goals and organizational excellence. • Ability to perform all job duties providing the highest level of service to both external and internal customers. Ability to communicate to and interact with executive level. • Ability to work in ambiguous situations. • Skill in organizing and performing detail-oriented and timely duties and functions. • Ability to plan and prioritize work. • Working knowledge of Microsoft Windows and Office software. • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality in all cases involving client operations and when dealing with sensitive data or security issues. TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS: Ability to travel up to 20% and as required, typically between Colorado and California PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND WORKING CONDITIONS: Performance of the required duties will require physical ability to sit for long periods of time at a desk, generally up to 5 hours per day and standing and walking. The repetitive motion using hands with constant keyboarding and physical use of vision to read computer monitors and paper documents. Regularly required to use hands to operate standard office equipment (personal computer, photocopy machine, fax machine). Occasionally required to stoop, kneel and lift up to 25 pounds. The noise level in the office work environment is usually moderate. SUMMARY: This is a general statement of required major duties and responsibilities performed on a regular and continuous basis.
