Job Description

At Lakeland Pier and Lift, we relate our success directly to the strength of our team. To continue operating at our high standards, we’re seeking an experienced service manager to join us. As an ideal candidate, you’ll be a born leader with previous managerial experience. You’ll have proven experience overseeing day-to-day operations, and potentially human resources, finance, and communications departments, preferably in a related field. You’re an expert communicator with a strong ability to delegate responsibilities and collaborate across a wide range of departments. Ultimately, you’re driven by the desire to lead a service team toward maximum productivity and efficiency.

Objectives of this Role

  • Develop strategic plans for optimized productivity
  • Review and improve organizational effectiveness by developing processes, overseeing employees, establishing a highly motivated work environment, and creating innovative approaches for improvement
  • Uphold standards of excellence and soaring quality
  • Provide guidance and feedback to help others in specific knowledge/skill areas

Daily and Monthly Responsibilities

  • Oversee day-to-day service operations and scheduling based on seasonal demand, weather, and manpower availability
  • Address customer requests and concerns quickly and professionally to maintain good relationships and ensure repeat customers
  • Assign weekly, quarterly, and yearly performance goals and assure their completion, while accomplishing your own goals
  • Recruit, onboard, and develop high-performing employees to achieve service and business plan objectives
  • Maintain timelines to ensure jobs are completed on time
  • Delegate responsibilities to able employees while enforcing all policies, procedures, standards, specifications, guidelines, training programs, and cultural values
  • Resolve internal staff conflicts efficiently and to the mutual understanding of those involved

Skills and Qualifications

  • Proven experience in a managerial role
  • Strong decision-making and prioritization capabilities
  • Above-average communication, collaboration, and delegation skills
  • Willingness to adapt in a fast-paced seasonal work environment
  • Ability to motivate, lead, and hold employees accountable
  • Strong working knowledge of operational procedures
  • Proficiency with Word, Excel, Quickbooks, and email

Preferred Qualifications

  • Formal training in business management or related field
  • Management experience with an outdoor-oriented seasonal business
  • Previous performance evaluation experience
  • Working knowledge of human resources processes
  • Above average familiarity with piers and boat lifts
