The Refrigeration Technician provides leadership and training to refrigeration maintenance employees and to be proficient in all

aspects of refrigeration maintenance. Operate safely and repair all equipment associated with the

refrigeration department. The Refrigeration Technician is also responsible for Food and Employee

Safety and Plant Security.

Job Description:

The Refrigeration Technician is responsible for effectively and efficiently maintaining the

operation of all Compressors, Frozen Storages, Boilers, Coolers and Freezers. This position is also

responsible for maintaining the preventive maintenance program and identifying existing and

potential maintenance problems within the plant to coordinate a plan of corrective action with the

Maintenance Manager.

This is a rotating shift

KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE

• Must pass Maintenance Mechanic A Level Test.
• Must demonstrate leadership skills.
• Speak, read, and write English.
• Possess math skills related to refrigeration and maintenance practices.
• Possess EPA Universal and RETA certifications

RESPONSIBILITIES

Responsible for the thorough understanding of the refrigeration system(s).

Assist in the training of a safe and efficient workforce.

Make continuous improvements to the procedures and operations plant wide.

Operate all freezers and associated equipment with limited supervision.

Complete required paperwork as required by Supervisor.

Troubleshoot and analyze special problem areas and diagnose where the problem exists.

Adheres to common safety practices and rules; including wearing protective equipment

and clothing as required.

Adheres to plant hygiene regulations to insure high product integrity.

Assure all guards are in place prior and safeties are functional prior to operating.

Performs other related maintenance duties as assigned by Management.
