Laborie Medical Technologies is currently searching for a Hardware Engineer - PLM to join our team in the Portsmouth, NH office.

Position Overview: 

As a member of the PLM engineering team, the Hardware Engineer is responsible for various hardware and electrical activities including the ongoing improvement and maintenance of existing product lines.  The position is responsible for the design and integration of hardware components, assemblies, and procedures for products. The engineer deals with product design updates while ensuring the maintenance of relevant documentation. S/he focuses on the PLM engineering projects in design, development, updates, verification testing, troubleshooting, and design to manufacturing transfer. 


How you contribute:

  • Assist in managing product life cycle of existing product lines
  • Manage Hardware design processes to ensure timely delivery of design and integration into the production of electrical and PCB designs
  • Aid in test strategies and executing of design verification
  • Aid in creation of Product and Development Documentation in compliance with Laborie QMS, ISO, and other standards
  • Design, implement, and deliver product changes to support sales, marketing, production, and service
  • Collaborate with new product development, manufacturing engineering, and quality engineering staff to ensure compliance of new or modified products and processes to company design control and quality system requirements
  • Provide technical support to regulatory affairs, customer care and marketing staff for product support issues and country registration processes
  • Work with management and development teams to establish best practices
  • Support collection and documentation of user’s requirements, development plans, time estimates, and resource management
  • Other duties as assigned





  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical/Electronic and/or Mechatronics Engineering, or equivalent, or related work experience
  • 2+ years of experience in designing electrical systems
  • Advanced skills with Altium are preferred. CAD tool knowledge is an asset.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills (English)Understanding of FDA’s QSR (CFR 820), IEC 60601, and/or IEC 62304 preferred
  • Highly developed analytical and quantitative skills
  • Motivated self-starter with an ability to determine when to act and when to ask for support
  • Meticulous working style including the ability to focus on details while holding the end-goal in clear sight
  • Highly organized with well-developed time-management skills and processes for managing multiple priorities
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and associated applications
  • Experience working in a regulated industry with user/patient safety is preferred etc.
