HR Generalist, based in Wabash, Indiana
Our client, a large, consumer product company located in Wabash, IN is seeking to fill an HR Generalist position on a direct-hire basis. The HR Generalist carries out responsibilities in the following functions: departmental development, employee relations, training and development, benefits, compensation, organizational development and employment.
RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES:
Answers employee questions about HR policies and procedures.
Coordinates new hire orientation, including training and new hire paperwork.
Participates as a member in the recruitment process.
Conducts investigations and research into classification and criteria advancement by reviewing appraisal reports of employees.
Establishes, organizes & maintains dept. records, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality.
Conducts with and advises management of HR issues; investigates HR-related problems and makes recommendations to the HR Manager.
Maintain a firm understanding of the company guidelines, policies, and mission.
Participates in the review and makes suggestions for new policies, programs & procedures.
Responsible for performance management. Ensuring all hourly annual reviews, as well as probationary reviews, are completed in a timely manner and meets expectations.
Keeps OSHA recordkeeping and workers’ compensation claims completed in a timely manner. Works with WC carrier to return employees back to work.
Updates the safety team monthly updates to: safety, wellness, welfare and health issues.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
Minimum of BS degree in (Business, Human Resources, or Manufacturing)
5(+) years of HR experience in a manufacturing environment.

QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS:
Must have excellent people and communication skills.
Knowledgeable and proficient on a computer, including Microsoft Office
Possess the ability to creatively solve problems and maintain records.
Excellent organizational skills, accurate record keeping & attention to details
Physically mobile with reasonable accommodations including ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
