Job Description

This “Manager - Remote technology” is a technical leader responsible for managing the company's remote technologies initiatives. As an engineering leader, you will lead a team of talented system/software engineers to solve broad technical challenges and enable innovation and agility in the internal product teams.

This is a remote-friendly role, managing distributed team. MUST have experience in the healthcare/hospital industry.

Responsibilities

  • Build and manage engineering team with a focus on product build execution.

  • Lead a team of solution architects, technical leads, and engineers to build out the capabilities to be used in the customer journeys.

  • Participate in customer journey mapping exercise to define the customer experience and work with the product team to fine-tune the needs.

  • Plan and run the PI planning sessions with the stakeholders - this includes internal teams such as Security, Network, DevOps, Day 2, Cloud, and other releases train teams.

  • Work across multiple teams, vendors, and partners to align the release trains for optimal delivery of capabilities.

  • Establish comparison criteria and matrix for comparing various vendors and leading vendor selection process.

  • As part of product delivery, ensure that all features and stories have been defined in alignment with the approved customer journeys and have detailed acceptance criteria.

  • Work with architects and technical leads to ensure that the product being built is aligned to the correct design and the team velocity is deterministic.

  • Create high-level and detailed road maps and ensure that the product delivery is in line with the expectations.

  • Surface status and any impediments in time for corrective measures to be taken with the leadership team on a regular cadence.

  • Track the budget and highlight any risks to it.

  • Strong project management skills, including excellent presentation development

  • Excellent communications skills, capable of working with cross-functional technical and business teams and varying levels of management, in a professional manner

  • Provide guidance, thought leadership, and mentorship to development teams

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent experience in the healthcare/hospital industry.

  • 12+ years industry experience with product analysis and delivery with 5+ years with leading teams for delivery. Deep knowledge and understanding of product delivery.

  • Experience with products build in the Cloud with Java-based technologies and delivered using automated CI/CD pipelines.

  • Strong working experience in Scrum methodologies with detailed insight into Agile processes and ceremonies (SAFE experience is good to have).

  • Strong communication (frequent status reports for upper management), project management, and analytical skills.

  • Good understanding of Cloud technologies, application security, web applications, and modern techniques for building software.

  • Exceptional interpersonal skills: written and verbal, in-person and remote.

  • You have the ability to build strong partnerships at all levels of our team and have proven leadership skills in listening, influencing, and coordinating.

  • Knowledge of professional software engineering practices and best practices for the full software development lifecycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations.

  • Demonstrated experience in leading and managing an engineering team to build and operate systems with Java, cloud services in a public cloud platform
