JOB SUMMARY

Our company is in high-growth mode with plans to double in revenue and operational capacity over the next five years. The Maintenance Manager is a key member of the team, and responsible for creating, developing and implementing an effective, high-quality manufacturing plant/equipment maintenance systems and programs.   Maximizing operating hours while minimizing downtime and off-hours calls. The Maintenance Manager is accountable for keeping the facility and grounds in excellent condition in support of our efforts to grow our market share and deliver the financial results that meet our business goals and customer expectations.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

•   Manage activities, tools, equipment, shop, spare parts inventory and resources related to the maintenance of plant, equipment and grounds.

•   Create, implement and manage Scheduled Maintenance system, with transparency to key team members and decision makers.

•   Create, implement and manage accurate system for inventory of tools, equipment, spare parts and resources.

•   Serve as point-of-contact for suppliers, i.e. building, equipment, mechanical, technology suppliers.

•   Develop and manage professional relationships, networks and resources to achieve optimum maintenance goals.

•   Create, implement and manage safety program in alignment with established needs and OSHA regulations. Conduct safety training and manage related documentation.

•   Organize First Response Team for first aid, injury information/interview collection, clean up and corrective actions, if applicable.

•   Identify and track performance metrics. Recommend efficiencies and capital investments that support business needs and goals.

•   Strive for continuous improvement. Stay current with industry activities, trends, and impacts upon areas of responsibility.

WORK ENVIRONMENT and PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Continuously requires vision and hearing, reading and speaking. Requires walking, standing, sitting, twisting, lifting, carrying, reaching, kneeling, pushing, pulling, gripping, balancing, bending, crouching and climbing.  Moving within and around manufacturing facilities, logistical operation areas, warehouses, storage areas, usually occupied by people while machinery is in operation, and under USDA observation.  Frequent use of mechanical and/or technological tools/equipment, manuals/instructional documents, and use of telephone, calculator, printer/copier, audio/video equipment and technologies, computer and software programs. This is not an exhaustive list.

 

Frequent and sustained exposure to slippery surfaces, cold or hot environments; some areas in facility are at a temperature as low as 40 degrees Fahrenheit. Frequent and sustained exposure to chemicals, hazards, food substances, meat products, equipment operations, noise and adverse temperatures.  Occasional business travel, meetings and industry events attendance required.

 

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

 

            EXPERIENCE

•   High level of knowledge, understanding, familiarity, and abilities applicable to the repair and maintenance of machines, technological and manufacturing equipment, refrigeration facilities and systems.

•   Able to acquire, comprehend, analyze and utilize schematics and data.

•   Familiarity with pneumatic, electrical, plumbing hydraulic, refrigeration and manufacturing facility systems.

•     Excellent time management skills, follow-through, balancing multiple projects, sense of urgency, and task prioritization.

 

            SKILLS

•     Self-directing, well-organized, works with little or no supervision.

•     Proficient use of computer, include Microsoft Office, Word, Gmail

•     Willing and able to learn and master additional skills, knowledge and systems as needed.

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

 

            EXPERIENCE

•     Bilingual, Spanish or Italian is a plus.

•     Welding

•     HVAC systems

•     Electrical systems

•     Management
